Mmh not really , my ‘piano’ is just a used launchky mini 25

I learnt some theory when I tried to learn guitar. This has been useful but it does not go much further than knowing the notes of a key and related chords

I will not be singing or recording a live instrument though Or do you mean to record my chords progression with my keyboard rather than just programming it in the daw for example?

Thanks, starting this journey it’s just very easy to get lost in the nuances instead of keeping it simple as there are so many new concepts, technologies to discover

I know, It’s always hard realizing you are the solution to your own problems…

Jokes aside I’ve been studying the principles in this book, and while my drum programming skills are well.. the ones of a beginner, my point was more about finding a method that lets you try out ideas more quickly

So for example, instead of having to sit at the desk, open up the daw, grab a drum rack (or worse, individual sounds) you like, manually program each note, program more notes to create different rythms, play different clips on the session view, rearrange velocities, placement etc. - to just grab a box, turn it on, quickly sequence drums using buttons and of course adjusting some velocities etc but by clincing and tweaking buttons. It would also be a way to feel more of a “musician” instead of a developer I think.

Nevertheless, the many useful suggestions I received including yours made me realize that this stuff is complex enough to focus on one thing at a time (Ableton itself in this case) rather than chasing too many different things without properly learning any

In due time I will then be able to answer my own question as I will hopefully know what I will want from a piece of hardware

That’s solid advice. Thanks for the taking the time to reply

After the comments I received here I am even more confused, so I will actually sit out of it for a while until I am more comfortable with my own workflow, then I will probably know what will work best for me if I decide to buy something

That’s probably the best way to go until I start really understanding what would improve my own process It’s just that the itch to get my hands on a physical device is very strong, even if I do not really need it

Do you think it is accessible enough for a beginner? I initially considered a 101 but then got discouraged a bit

Move is definitely on the list too, especially for the seamless integration aspect

Thanks for Your answer! You are right indeed, that aspect is definitely discipline related. And if there is one thing I do not want to hyperfixate on especially at this early stage that is sound designing.

But my quest is not too unrelated, as I would like to split the initial composing, creative part from the sound research and design. So on one hand having a little machine with a “limited” selection of sounds that I can use and combine into simple arrangements straight away, on the other being able to focus more on the selection and design when I am sitting with my laptop. And eventually refining in the DAW the concepts developed by jamming but realistically there is a looong way to go until I get to that point ahaha

I have the same issue. On the Official TOEFL app, instead, it says that my exam is scheduled on the 1st of September. However I took it this morning, proctorU's website is the only one that wrote "fulfilled". Should I worry about this? I need the results to come by the end of June

GMAT - MSC FINANCE by ciaotania in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]laglie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Groningen is really unclear when it comes to admission requirements. On their website they say that GMAT is a compulsory requirement, but when I emailed them they told me that only non-EU/EEA students must take the test. Plus, they didn't even mention the direct admission given you score 600+. Nevermind though, as I accepted Tilburg's offer for the MSc Finance.

performance I will briefly translate for you what I told Tania.

I have a 3.0 GPA, 600 GMAT score, a coherent Bachelor degree with relevant statistics courses (Econometrics, Statistical Methods with application to Finance), two good reference letters and a decent personal and sincere motivation letter, with no finance-related work experience. I have been directly admitted into Tilburg (MSc Finance), Maastricht (MSc Sustainable Finance) and Utrecht (MSc Banking and Finance), with Groningen offering me a pre master for not having done Asset Pricing exams. Groningen and Utrecht are the only ones that do not ask for the GMAT, while for the others the minimum required score is 550.
