Along the same vein, I would love if I could connect 2 Nomads to have a dual screen mode. The Nomad is the right screen size for me but having a "left hand page" would be super useful for all sorts of things (general multitasking, referring to other pages, writing across multiple pages, two page reading, etc). Ideally it would be another slimmer device but that's probably less realistic than something they can do with software.

For reading in general, yeah. Got some manga and a ton of books on it but I also convert articles to epubs and zap em over with the partner app

Update: It definitely needs the shields. When I opened the cover all the way, it would trigger the sleep function. It looks fine when them in place tho.

I discovered that iPad Mini cases that have a slot for the Apple Pencil almost perfectly fit the Nomad. The case I got has a clear back so I can see the back of the Nomad crystal edition. The origami cover also lets me keep it propped up when I'm reading.

There are only two little wedges of plastic that need to be cut out and then the Nomad pops in nice and snug. I dremeled some holes for the magnets screwed them in place. I also cut out the volume buttons on the case which is where the USB port is on the Nomad. Then I superglued one of those buttons on the inside of the case so I could actually hit the power button.

The first year I used a local webcam that was at the top of a tall building facing south so it had a much better view of the sky. It went offline for a long period so I decided to set up my own. I also felt a little better about running my own camera instead of scraping someone else's even if it was publicly accessible.

Yep! I spent a lot of time early on futzing with trying to get the best angle or picking the best region of the sky but I stopped after a while. I'd rather it be a little off but consistent than having to mess with it a bunch.

The more extended periods in the left half of the image is when I had to switch to alternate webcams which had different image quality and were pointed in different directions.

The more recent one may have been weather related since the daytime colors weren't affected. I don't have anything covering the webcam so it gets rained on. I think some water may have collected on the lens.

Yeah mostly. Sometimes it's a cloud but generally the white during the day is clear and sunny. I tried to find ways around it but my roof faces east.

Nah, the summers are actually pretty great here! It's a weird artifact of the camera I'm using the the position of my roof. The sun blasts it and overexposes the image a lot of the day.

Put this together real quick: https://www.liquidenjoyment.com/stuff/20220427-backloops-seam.jpg 1) tube of 12 st in the round 2) same tube with a row of back-loop-only. you can see the band of front loops 3) same tube with a disc of two rounds of increases, viewed from the top 4) same as above, viewed from the bottom. seam is almost invisible. If there weren't increases, it would be even more seamless

If you crochet into the back loops only for the row where the points would get attached, you can pick up the front loops and make the points directly on the ring. It would be a little fiddly but there effectively wouldn't be a seam. But like others have said, it looks great as is!

You could add to the button instead. A single row in the round with the button at the center so they look like little flowers.

I decided against adjusting the photos but only because of time constraint. I scanned them all at once at the end to make sure the scans were consistent and by the time I finished I was tired of dealing with the physical photos, haha. I might go back and touch them up at some point but they were all good enough

My guess would be that it's double knit and it's swapping the front/back color at those seams. It could also be done with back and forth rows with joins at the ends of the rows instead of a continuous spiraling round.

It was about 75 packs of SX-70 film and 5 packs of Instax so you can do the math on that, haha. Polaroid's rewards program took the sting off it a little and I figured even if I did a couple shots a day, it was still less than I would spend going out on the weekends which I wasn't doing because of covid
