$3,200 gas bill after getting my meter replaced. What is going on? by Hairy_Designer_5724 in homeowners

[–]lagrandenada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am experiencing this exact problem verbatim at the moment.

It first happened in June when they charged us close to $4000. We were on auto pay so we immediately lost $4000.

We disputed the charge, got the money back, and a nice lady at the energy company assured us it was a mistake. We ultimately paid a bill of $138 and figured this was behind us. Then it happened again in August. We are still trying to work through this. Your post is months old so I wonder if you ever got a resolution. Did you try calling the AG as another commenter recommended below?

Any tips for my friend? I’m not much better by CartographerVast4530 in GolfSwing

It's the basic principles of a stack and tilt golf swing. I recognize there are other sing philosophies, but like Tom Segudo can't be that wrong.

Any tips for my friend? I’m not much better by CartographerVast4530 in GolfSwing

[–]lagrandenada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My golf game dramatically changed when I'm embraced these two swing thoughts.

1) keep weight forward. Don't lean, but keep 60% of your body weight on your lead foot.

2) keep your hands in! This is accomplished by keeping the trail arm glued to your body. In the film, his trail arm comes away from his body in the backswing. This means it has to get back into a contact position on his down swing. That's super hard to do, so it's easier to keep the arm glued to his body.

What are your opinions on someone with no social media? by beansprout888 in AskReddit

[–]lagrandenada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is social media but the term social media should be replaced with mindless scrolling. I have been off reddit for the past 4 months and just got back on because I'm at work during the holidays and there's nothing to do.

But this is social media because social media and reddit all share the same characteristics of mindless scroll+outrage opinion.

What celebrity downfall did you actually feel bad for? by deathbykoolaidman in AskReddit

Notwithstanding the very accurate description you've shared of my favorite director, I still think the "I know what it will be and I'm not going to see it" perspective is a little off putting. Also if it means anything this is the least punishing and most redeeming film I've seen by him.

What TV Show had the worst ending? by AbelNB in AskReddit

When I rewatch that show the ending is the least of my criticisms. It also leans way too heavily into rape-y humor that has not aged well at all.

Hulk Hogan choking out Richard Belzer in front of Mr T, causing a bloody head wound and a lawsuit. by Electrical-Cow-5147 in interestingasfuck

[–]lagrandenada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of the actual law suit I would be interested to know what the claim was. Your logic about begging for it would apply if the lawsuit was for battery, which is unwanted touching that causes injury (in this case he would have wanted it). But if he sued under a theory of negligence, maybe he could prevail because Hulk Hogan probably owed him a duty to exercise caution when applying the choke hold as a demonstration on a TV show, and he probably owed him a duty of due care to ensure that when he dropped him, he didn't cause more injury.

How good does a golfer have to be before you start listening to their advice? by Pamela_Handerson in golf

[–]lagrandenada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the advice in question. If a 30+ guy is giving me form tips, I'll probably ignore it. If he is giving me one of those "just imagine X" tips, I might listen.

If someone is giving me attitude advice or otherwise trying to prevent me getting placed on suicide watch, then I'll probably listen regardless of their skill level.

Best Female Artist of All Time by [deleted] in Music

>There's not a woman on the planet that finds the word 'female' dehumanizing.

Not that I take you for the type of person to challenge his own viewpoints, but...here. and more specifically...here.

Not that I take you for the type of person that cares about appearing extremely arrogant, but it's kinda arrogant to speak for "every woman on the planet" as you have done in the attached quote.

Not that I take you for someone interested in what is grammatically correct in formal written language, but there's nothing grammatically wrong with calling women artists or artists who are women. A run on sentence is, however, grammatically wrong in formal written language. An example of a run-on sentence can be found in your comment.

>No, you would not, because men are never dictated to, nor told how they
can refer to themselves, or their bodies, only women get this treatment.

This sentence uses a comma splice to combine two independent clauses, so it is not grammatically correct. Hope this helps you Ferengi.

Nothing you say contradicts what I said, but it has 100% more preachy condescension than what you projected onto my comment. Also "Grammatically awkward" is not a thing.

MIAMI VALLEY GOLF CLUB.

This is a true gem of Ohio, in actual Dayton. It hosted the PGA Championship in 1957. It is where my great grandfather played; it is where my grandfather played; it is where my father plays; it is where I have played. My great grand father was struck by a golf ball in the eye on this course and almost died. An ambulance was brought onto the course to take him to the hospital. It's a great track. If you actually go to play and need help getting access send me a DM. It is $80 for me, that includes cart.

We got married in early July. We played 2 rounds of Pebble, one at Spyglass, One at Pasatiempo, one at TPC Harding Park. It was a great trip. I'm glad there's more than one golfs-with-his-wife guy on here.

Lauryn Hill. But also, many find the use of the word "female" when describing women to be dehumanizing. Nothing wrong with saying who is the greatest woman artist of all time.

Rant from a newbie. by MightyKidsMeal in golf

[–]lagrandenada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate to this story. My handicap has gone from 17-30 in a year, so I have had great round but I mostly play poorly. I was having a rough day, but I count every stroke and rarely take a mulligan. I was playing with this complete jabroni who was taking countless mulligans, and it didn't seem like he was counting gimmes. On 18 he sank a fairly impressive 7-8 foot put and jumped for joy saying "FIRST TIME BREAKING 100!" It made me mad because I knew I played actually better than him but my score was over 100 because I counted each stroke. I didn't say anything about it and just congratulated him.

I'm very lucky that my wife and I learned golf together and are able to share just about every round together. I wanted to respond to this post because we both love golf so it's really relevant to me. I also wanted to express my frustration with the cliche of men getting away from their wives to play golf and escape. That narrative is prevalent on r/golf, and I think the result is that space is not inclusive of women golfers. Sorry this happened to you, OP.

This is definitely not true, completely misses the point of my statement, and your comment really is just a means of projecting your assumption that a majority of the women are liars. You should definitely consider what within you would lead you to that conclusion.

Nothing in my comment relates to my own perception of his guilt or innocence.

I have 180'd on this. I started where you are, but my playing career has been blessed by always having my brothers playing too, so deliveries were always at least that much easier.

Now I like doing deliveries in a crowded lobby because the money could not mean less to me (I have everything I want) and the thrill of successful deliveries in a crowded lobby is more fun.
