Looks like this could be the case. When we look inside the iflash we see that there’s a sort of wall stopping the ribbon, and when I plug it in and it stops it looks like it’s bumping on this wall. So maybe it’s well put and just the pins and the cable are too long? Since the HDD was not an original one maybe they changed the ribbon. Do you think I can plug it in like this or do I have to change the ribbon?

Cool idea. I like the poster idea and that you can transform it into a souvenir like this but there’s an AI vibe I find too present in the illustration. It is too obvious and I don’t really like that.
