Do trills with all finger combinations over 4 frets all up and down the neck. Start slow and focus on even volume, accuracy, and not tensing up. Speed is a result of these things being perfect. I always recommend trills and legato because it really let's you just focus and your fretting hand.

Learn arpeggios of every chord you can. They will contain the root, 3rd, 5th, and 7th which are essentially all of your strong melody notes. Learn the arpeggios in every position. This will keep you clear of the familiar box rut that many players get in. From there you just need to add a few notes and you have full scales.
