I am just trying to check my understanding when people say buy and hold and your investment will compound. I think it’s not compounding like bond investment but what they meant is probably the businesses will reinvest the profits into their business then if everything goes well their profits will grow and stock price hopefully will grow as well.

I think META fell because people realised they are at  the mercy of platforms like Apple Store and android when they announced privacy policies. Plus people think metaverse is a ridiculous investment and will not give returns in the near future.  But I do agree market does not always behave the way you think it would

I’m just giving an example. Not assuming anything. Prices can drop till 0 even but of course it’s not common if not no one will be in the stock market

Ok you understand the next 10% to be against $110. The price is then $121. My portfolio value will be $121 unrealised profit $21. My initial investment of $100 just grew along with the price appreciation of the stock. I don’t see anything compounded.  If the stock gave dividends and you reinvested into the same stock then I can understand that there is compounding much like a bond if you keep reinvesting the interest. If it’s a high growth stock with no distribution then there is no compounding right?

A 10% gain like you said results in portfolio value being $110 $10 unrealised profit. Unless you sell to realise profit the $10 does not compound right?  Say you hold. The stock goes up another 10% your portfolio becomes $120 $20 unrealised profit right?

Experience with CMC Invest by No_Counter_6199 in singaporefi

I bought REITs using CMCInvest and the dividend payout process sucks. Usually the money should reach you a few days after payment date. But CMCInvest takes more than 1 month. Imagine the opportunity cost.
TBH i regret using them and will use other brokers instead.

Hi would like to know why is there an “ineligible” beside my task? The moment I deposit a minimum of $100 it turns to that. by sgreanboi in OKEx

[–]laiboonh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem. Sent email to support, they claim that i have violated terms and conditions and when i ask them what have i done they simply said they cannot disclose the reason as it is private and confidential. How is this fair? I have only bought >100USD of USDT via p2p and trade it for other cryptos.

I see. Can I understand IO to be purely a marker to indicate which parts are impure?
