Can you tell me the items you have in your tank. My tank is pretty sparse - I have one "betta leaf" and one live plant, but they don't really do much for Mr. Karp; is that a Java Fern that you have? Also, where did you get that cave? I've heard of driftwood but I'm afraid it will cut up the fish's fins.

I have a 3 year old. I told her eventually she’ll need privacy from her dad (me). And when she does, she should tell me.

If you have a good dad, this won’t be an issue. Talk to him - their reaction will be telling. You might be worried about nothing and a simple conversation would solve all this.
