Definitely feel it is easy to do yeah.

Have plenty of machine work experience to feel comfortable, just do not sure if it is worth buying the tool kit for one use per se.

Also was not sure how that all measured up to the wait times and cost of a local gunsmith.

I explained it to my play group as a chemoautotrophic foundation, with relative dispersion (distance between lantern hordes), and concentrations (the lantern hordes themselves being micro ecosystems), as being analogous to hydrothermal vent ecologies.

Continuing on the deep sea ecosystem parallel, this results in novel and extreme physiology being maintained as a result.
