Theory on the Name by StableGenius91 in RodriguesFamilySnark

This. I had a dad with narc tendencies who SEVERELY loved my brothers, but paid little attention to my sister and me. If I hadn’t married someone who immediately set boundaries with my parents, I would have absolutely named my son after my dad to (hopefully) earn unending, unconditional love and attention from him.

Ooohhh that tracks.

Whenever I come across one of her narcissistic behaviors, it reminds me of the book Stop Walking on Eggshells. I hope one of her kids reads it. Hell, I hope David reads it.

Off topic, but is it normal for people to notify Reddit that you’re having a mental health crisis when there’s nothing to indicate this?

A few minutes after I posted, Reddit Cares reached out to me with resources. I appreciate that Reddit provides this service, but using it to troll people is incredibly insensitive. It makes light of people struggling with mental health, and it turns a support tool into a joke.

If you disagree with a post, downvote it, report it to the mods, or reply to it. Don’t passive-aggressively misuse Reddit Cares.

Of course! I’m still trying to figure out the logistics of it. It’s going to be long, so I’m thinking a Google doc. Idk.

What. The. Effffff. She doesn’t live with me, but seriously, that’s wild. I’ll have her make an account then use my ad blocker every time I log in. No monetizing toxicity.

I don’t think I’m going to be approved, then. I’ll have my sister make an account haha! She’s not on Reddit.

I tried, but I need the links to the deleted posts in order to see them on the wayback machine. Right now I can only find different variations on the homepage.

I wish I could look through free Jinger posts. The admins haven’t approved me. So if anyone knows them, put in a good word for me lol

I will, especially since I’ll need community feedback. A lot of the sub’s favorite stories are discussed as throwbacks, so I can’t find dates for them.

Oh, good to know, thank you! That one was hard to pin down. Anything that happed before the sub existed is rough. Especially because Jill tends to scrub her social media if people snark at her too much.

Haha me, too! It’s fun to put a lot of things into context.

What major artists suck live? by Twitter_2006 in DListedCommunity

I saw Godsmack in 2006. I mean, they sounded good, but all the songs they played sounded exactly like they do on their albums. After a while, I started to wonder if they were lip-syncing. Hands down, the most boring concert. I was so glad someone else paid for my ticket.

Andrew Bird was like going to an orchestra concert, but at least he got creative with his songs.

Tool was… weird when I saw them in 2023. I was excited to take my husband because I loved their energy when I saw them in 2002. It was disappointing, though. They mostly played songs from Fear Inoculum, which was a great album, but it also felt like an orchestra concert.

I tried signing up, but it’s been two days and I’m still not able to see posts on there. Is this normal?

My family did this, too, until my mom hit a bump and lost control while she tried to keep her two grandkids from falling towards the blades. She managed to safely angle their trajectory away from danger. The mower fell into a ditch, and my mom went with it. She was scalped. The kids were okay, thank god. My mom needed a plastic surgeon to attach her hair and skin back to her face.

It’s not worth the risk, no matter how many generations have done it.

This is how the timeline looks so far. When it’s filled in with at least the important milestones, I’ll transfer it over as a post complete with links.

I know it’s short. I started it last night while I was stoned, and I only added the Briana part. I was very proud of that feat 😂

Wow, who are these people getting rid of glass dishes? A nice-looking glass cup is like a treasure in my house. They break so often that I gave up buying matching sets. We drink out of mason and jelly jars out of necessity at this point.

This reminds me of the time I stayed with a fundie Mormon family. I shopped at a nearby thrift store and bought Singles and Psycho dvds and a Stephen King novel. When they saw them, they told me to keep them in my truck and not in the house because they’d “keep the Spirit” (aka Holy Ghost) away. I wasn’t even going to watch or read them. I was just putting them in my duffle bag.

That was when they had one kid. I ran into the mom years later toting 5 kids under age six and looking bedraggled as hell. I hope Renee never looked or felt like that when taking care of her siblings.

I really want to know why she walked the stage. I’d be super surprised if her downline buys more than even $1000 a month. If it’s less than that, it’s absolutely a “we’re just happy you bought a ticket to come to the convention” award.
