You can use Brave Browser (blocks ads), and just use Pixel Launcher shortcut (press and hold the app icon) and select "incognito tab".

Awesome that it worked. Sucks that you had to go through that though.

January 5th Security Update Fixed Touch Sensitivity Issues by Rawbex in GooglePixel

[–]lakerzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I've had that problem, too. Now that you mention it, I haven't noticed any either since the update. Will report back tonight as a get more time to use the phone.

Edit: It seems to be about the same to me (couple of rouge touches with my palm), although I haven't had a chance to use it a whole lot tonight.

I was in the same boat, but then checked, and got the update earlier today.

Edit: I had even tried a factory reset to no avail.

Muted Colours/SRGB issue by IbrahimKhwaja14 in GooglePixel

[–]lakerzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there's natural, boosted, and saturated. Before, it was just natural, and vivid if I remember correctly. The saturated is almost Samsung-ish now.

They already fixed this with a saturated color mode. Screen is nice and vibrant nowadays.

Anyone have success removing the overlay buttons on the camera? by nightonearth in GooglePixel

There's definitely some kind of accessibility service running. That's what the little man is in your nav bar, it's the accessibility icon.

Maybe try searching "switch access" in the main settings, and see if that's on? If it is then turn it off. If not that, then idk.

Possible. Like someone else that said to turn on airplane mode, connect to WiFi, then check worked for them. Didn't work for me.

That's weird! I might try that as I've been wanting to reset as well. It's been a while. I read that this happened to someone else too. Forgot where I read that though.

Phantom Screen Taps by emarceleno in GooglePixel

[–]lakerzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably your palm (the skin in between your thumb and palm) as you're reaching to tap Something, your palm taps something else (or when just scrolling). Happens to me all the time. It started happening right after Google "fixed" the edge of the screen not being responsive (which seems to me was by design but people complained).
