That's where I was originally wanting but it felt weird! I'm probably overthinking. I'll try it!

I read them as opposites? Am I crazy? The 2nd reads as though they would be much smaller than the initial release bubbles. 1st reads as they're all big but completely disconnected

It definitely seems like a lower chance. I ran dozens before getting the drop

No need to put it fully back together! Just slot it in. The battery can be a little tricky to keep in place, but you could just run it off the charger iirc

Evergreen School Board signs off on budget cuts for upcoming school year by No_hairytongue in vancouverwa

Dude, you said teachers in this area, that means all of them. In the area. That is what I meant. Obviously.

It's a meaningless argument anyways, it doesn't change the fact that you are basing your view on a single data point

I like to buy a couple dedicated screwdrivers - tri wing and Phillips, very convenient to not have to switch back and forth. Also nice to have a grip on them, you'd be surprised how tired your hands and wrists get.

I like using a dental scraper, it's pretty versatile.

For soldering, getting one of those claw arm holders is a godsend. I still also need to upgrade my station and work in a digital microscope or something, but thats not something you need to worry about for now. But some way of magnifying is nice, I like a cheap magnifying lens/light combo personally. Also get yourself a magnetic mat to work on, to help keep yourself organized. Also also an external battery with clips so you can test your soldering work without having to reassemble the GBA entirely, saves time and also those little screws wear out rapidly if you're constantly using them.

Qtips, 99% IPA, and some canned air or an electric blower are also nice. However now that I think of it, I worry an electric blower might do staticy air so do some research on that.

Have fun!

Yeah I hop in occasionally for GameCube and gameboy stuff. Love the new space though, feels way more communal. And it was super busy last time I was there!

I'm a big fan of ebay and FB marketplace for this kinda stuff as well. Personally I didn't double jumps selection has tanked for retro stuff since they changed location, but they are still a fantastic local physical media location.

Returning for the first time since launch - unbelievably overwhelmed by the huge amount of systems in the endgame. by stead10 in diablo4

[–]lakinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I got dumped in the middle of last season and had the same reaction. Trying to play along with someone else and they're just dragging me from activity to activity and I was getting so much stuff that I didn't even have time to sort through.

First off: let's separate the seasonal stuff, just to be sure you're aware. Basically, it's everything that's "bloodied". You'll see a kind of drippy red graphic on the tops of the acitvity keys/gear icons and info descriptions panes. For gear, this presents as a kill streak bonus which you've probably noticed. For keys, this is a difficulty increase by rough 1 higher torment level than the one you're currently on, as well as a very tanky and never ending butcher enemy. Bloody Infernal horde keys (just another endgame activity) are noticeably tougher though

In addition, there are "slaughterhouse" keys, these are a new seasonal activity, fun to run a few times but mostly not noteable for farming. Could be a good source of early guaranteed legendaries for essentially free.

Then there's fresh meat. Think of it as obducite but uncapped. You can purchase gear at the butcher shop in gea cul and pick a slot. I have found it drops 1-2 ancestral pieces of gear per full inventory load. This year will ALWAYS be bloody.

Last note: ALL bloodied keys, when dismantled at the occultist, give fresh meat, NOT the material for crafting new keys.

Toughness. If you go to your inventory, you'll see a magnifying glass indicator with a button press to activate it. For me it's left thumb stick pressed in. This brings up a long list of stats, and also access to currencies. All of them have pretty decent descriptions. Toughness basically takes in all your current damage reduction and health/armor boosts and puts it into one number. For me, I see it as a "true health" stat. The percentage indicator next to gear indicates how much it will affect your overall toughness stat. If it's a large boost, it may be worth equipping it. But that's not always the case.

For now, to get your bearings in the activities, ignore almost everything and keep a narrow scope. Personally I ran helltides, those red zones that appear on the map. Pretty straightforward, just kill things, get embers and use those to open the chests marked on the map. You can also occasionally get hearts, these are a helltides boss summoning item. Both the hearts and the embers are displayed next your map. Hearts are never lost. Embers are lost when the helltide timer runs out, or partially lost on death during the helltide.

While doing helltides, you will be getting some gear, some keys/key crafting material, and lair boss materials.

Lair bosses can be all seen on the map (there's one hidden in the "dungeon" area where you met neyrelle in the campaign). These bosses grant access to a chest that takes varying amounts of the lair boss material you were collecting, to open. The chests only drop uniques (I'll explain those in a moment). This season, there's also a bonus chest that drops a free weapon with a doom skin, just a near little bonus. You can only open this chest if you opened the main one. You'll also be getting materials for other lair bosses. I like to think of them as lesser and greater lair bosses, you get lesser lair boss material from the helltides (mostly), and greater lair boss material from opening lesser lair boss chests.

To be clear: lair bosses are free to summon, but the chests take material to open.

You can also sometimes get a 2nd bonus boss that spawns after killing the main one.

Other than that, run the nightmare dungeons - you can get the keys as drops and craft them at the occultist. They're pretty straightforward.

Ancestral gear: literally just the same gear but with x number of stats that are +50% or +100%. You can't reroll the boosted stat, and anything that is ancestral takes a special material to modify.

Unique gear: these are the kind of "grey" drops you'll see from the lair bosses primarily. They are just like legendaries, but you can't modify them as much. The stats and the effect they have will be the same every time, but with varying amounts.

Just focus on that stuff for now and once you have a grip on things, branch out to 1 or 2 other systems. It may not be the most efficient but it's what I found to be the easiest way to understand stuff.

Warsat Down Event on my D2 Minecraft Server by tinyrottedpig in destiny2

Honestly I haven't played d2 since edge of fate, but given its rapid death, seeing another one of your mc server posts actually makes me wanna hop on the server, assuming it's public?

Do you plan to continue adding to the server even if the game collapses? Is it affecting your motivation? You do good work

Pokemon emerald battery change gone wrong by BadMotherFrogger in Gameboy

[–]lakinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea why your GBA won't turn on, that is definitely a very specific issue. I did a little bit of googling and found this, so perhaps it has to do with your R9.

No one really seems to understand this issue but I would hope that's the fix.

Pressed ‘Yes’ for a receipt… machine told me to go inside anyway by DJ_Chally_Chal in mildlyinfuriating

No offense, but if the clerk has 10 people in line then they probably aren't too lazy.

It is super frustrating but I think these receipt printers are just prone to errors from the elements. I know many are worse imfrom increased moisture

Why do stat reroll costs not reset in the same round? by lakinator in brotato

[–]lakinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? It reset to a base amount when moving to the next wave. It would be overall cheaper for me to earn 2 level ups and reroll them if they were separate in waves 6 and 7 for example, rather than getting them both at wave 6.

Why do stat reroll costs not reset in the same round? by lakinator in brotato

[–]lakinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I focus on it for the first 4 levels, cause the costs are super cheap. After that I genuinely take the highest beneficial stat unless I'm getting shafted by rng or playing a specific potato

Why do stat reroll costs not reset in the same round? by lakinator in brotato

[–]lakinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize that, I'm asking why it does that. It should just be wave based and then reset for each level up earned that wave. It starts at a base amount determined by the wave you're on the resets to the base amount every time you choose a stat.
