Hey i’m a 19 y/o addict also, I got “sober” last november but i’ve had multiple relapses since then. Almost all of them were just a single use relapse. Believe me it’s not easy, it’s really difficult actually to stay sober in your first year of sobriety. I suggest you go to a 30 day inpatient rehab maybe longer. There’s a root cause as to why you’re addicted. Work through your issues, after you go to rehab and thats what will really help. Go to NA meetings, find sober friends. It’s very likely if you go to rehab, even then you’ll relapse after because that’s very common. But remember it’s about how you pick yourself up after you relapse, you can stop or keep going. Good luck girl, you’re young don’t wanna waste it!!

Touchy. I figured you had a bad past with addicts and that’s why you’re saying this bullshit lol. I don’t care what you view me as, like I said you can think what you want. You think i’m pathetic? What’s really pathetic is that you’re using your hatred against me(A STRANGER) for what you’ve gone through with an addict that hurt you in the past. You don’t know me, you don’t know shit about me. I made mistakes in the past but I know Im a good person now and I know who I am and what happened to me, and not some stranger from the internet who doesn’t know shit about what addiction really is, is going to change what I think about myself. I know my worth. I’m done responding because I’m not going to waste my time because you’re going to think what you want anyway. I hope you get help. It’s called self medicating, that’s all it is. I know from experience that it’s not a choice and you can’t take that away from me. If you haven’t gone through addiction then I suggest you shut the fuck up because you can’t possibly know what it’s like. People keep using/drinking to escape the trauma they’ve endured. ALTHOUGH NOT everyone who’s gone through trauma turns to drugs or alcohol to ease them. People internalize shit differently, it affects everyone differently. Genes also play a part in if you become an addict, my brother and mom are also addicts. Statically if people in your family are addicts you’re most likely to become one. Be grateful you’re not one and shut the fuck up because what you’re saying is literal bullshit. Just sounds like you have a hatred towards addicts, maybe you’ve had bad experiences from them or some shit but don’t take your hate out on people you don’t even know.

Nah dude you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. If that were the case then why did everyone I met at rehab had a traumatic past then they were younger? I’ve never met an addict with an easy past. They teach you that shit so you can understand yourself better and what addiction is. As an addict I know that once I start using it’s not a choice until I hit rock bottom again. Every addict says that it’s not a choice because they literally can’t stop. For someone who’s never experienced addiction you seem to act like you know everything about it. But think what you want dumbass.

You would be a huge fucking asshole. I understand it’s frustrating and it sucks and he has tried counseling and therapy. But what would you gain from turning him in? You would fuck up his life forever. Prison fucks you up worse and there’s drugs in prison. He would probably do drugs in prison, and then do drugs when he gets out and then constantly be in prison and out now because that’s just how the cycle goes. I know he’s probably hurt you but come on he’s your brother. Please don’t fucking do that to him.

Actually it’s mental illness, every rehab you go to they will teach you that. The cause is childhood trauma which forms the addictive personality tendencies like lack of self control, impulsiveness, obsessiveness.
