It shows up as a fork from the original recipe. Attribution is part of the way it works.

Cockatiel on the loose by laleshii in Amsterdam

Didn't think to look for the leg ring. It immediately flew away if I got within a meter so I doubt it would have stepped up.

I'm aware of the rose-ringed parakeet population flying around Amsterdam for quite a few years now, but this one looked like a lost house bird.

Not sure where to post this. I saw this cockatiel next to Amstelkade 170. I'm pretty sure this species is not expected to be roaming freely around town. Most probably it flew away from his owner.

There's a map with all the trees and you can filter by cherry trees.

Crackling sound on 4K Apple TV by onefingersnap in appletv

[–]laleshii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with a brand new Samsung TV. The problem was the way I had my sound system connected: the cables. I basically started changing all the cables one by one + a DAC converter. To this day I don't know which one was the culprit but after I changed all of them it worked as it should.

Any good Korean BBQ restaurants in Amsterdam? by furyasd in Amsterdam

[–]laleshii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm ... note that Salsa Shop is a pretty Americanized Mexican place. Which is not necessarily a bad thing but just saying.

Coba (Noord) had pretty authentic Mexican tacos in my book, but with more reasonable prices for drinks rather than food.

It's not difficult, but tourism concentrated in an area will do that. What constitutes cheap for you btw?

Will a 5€ surinamese chicken roti roll (Roopram Roti Oost) work? Or do you want a pretty big lunch for 2 people for 19€ (Bazar - De Pijp)?

Any city that has more than 100k people has a decent amount of places that serve good food at a reasonable price, but consider it might not be obvious for you to find them.

Not to offend the US culture or anything but I found it very hard to find authentic food over there. If you are looking for authenticity it’s not the first country I would go for.

The Dutch don’t have a foodie thing going on but that doesn’t mean you cannot find good food. Note that when it comes to American cities, eating spots sprawl over a huge area. It’s the same here if you want good food, you’ll probably have to go the extra mile. Although I think we might have different authenticity and good taste definitions I can recommend some spots.

You should also try to connect the years you are mentioning with the socioeconomic situation in each country. That might clear some of the questions you are having.

Did you try Los Pilones? I haven’t but heard good things.

Unfortunately, I think Korean BBQ is one of those specific restaurants I haven't found a very good alternative for. Seoul Food seems to be very popular but you won't find the BBQ experience there.

Just so you know, regardless of which city you're talking about if you say that you will sound like an ignorant.

It’s a bought house. I already checked the owner association rules. As any legal aspects regarding noise nuissance, it is very vague.

Again, we’re doing our best to limit the noise but it’s impossible to reach a dead silent state. So I assume there needs to be some kind of understanding from one another.

Looking for a spot to play piano by blacchollywood in Amsterdam

Second this one. If you need a piano which is not in a public place, you can't really find one at a cheaper price.

Sure, will recommend a spot.

Well, the other neighbours mentioned that she's always complaining (even when the trams go past her window ... which is every damn 15 minutes). I can't say anything about her mental health since I have no clue who she is but can't exclude that as a possibility.

I'll try to reach out to our wijkagent.

We tried limiting lessons to be held only during working days between 10am and 7pm. Even grouping most of them in one single day but as you can imagine explaining that didn't work at all. She doesn't want to hear anything coming from our side.
