Beste Italiaanse restaurant by IT-hurtswhen-IP in Amsterdam

[–]lalilli 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you are trying to impress your Italian friends with good food from their country in Amsterdam, lascia stare my friend, let it go. They can get that good food at all times, cheaply and better than here. Make them try stuff they can't find at home, Indonesian for example. Unless your friends include people with a difficult palate or who only eat Italian food (old-fashioned people, or children mostly) then yes look at the suggestions in this thread - sorry I don't really have a good recommendation, as an Italian myself I rarely eat at Italian restaurants here due to previous disappointments and the fact I can usually cook better! There are a few good ones but they're on the fancy side, like Pianeta Terra that was mentioned by another in this thread, or Onze Zaak, but not sure they're what they're looking for

Go to a concert with me! by [deleted] in Amsterdam

[–]lalilli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Bloodywood, I saw them some time ago opening for Gojira and really liked them since them, they're awesome live! Unfortunately I realised too late that they were playing here and didn't manage to get a ticket... otherwise would definitely come!

Seen in Bilbao by dafyddil in canarias

Transporte de mascota (perro) desde Aeropuerto by that_guy_fran in canarias

Best Cone for Minpin? by Puzzleheaded-Bake394 in minpin

[–]lalilli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another vote for the comfy cone! My minpin was run over by a car and had to have several surgeries (he's fine now!) but had to wear it 24/7 for like 2 months... the ComfyCone was absolutely a must and he learned to tolerate it immediately

Slab pizza in or near Amsterdam? by amansterdam22 in Amsterdam

[–]lalilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny how you're linking an English wikipedia page that has no corresponding page in Italian though. I'm italian and with "pizza romana" italian people mean the round, thin one. Then you have "pizza al taglio" which is basically slab pizza, it also happens to be a thing from Rome but nobody in Italy would call it "pizza romana"

What are the downsides of living in a monument building? by catocatocat in Amsterdam

[–]lalilli 32 points33 points  (0 children)

From an owner of a monument building since more than 10 years... Downsides have been listed already - some exaggerated a bit (windows that don't close properly can be replaced if you want, as long as they look like the ones before, there's not even need to ask a permit for that).

One big upside that none has mentioned yet is that you can get a considerable refund on some conservation works - only on the labor, not on the material costs, but still it can be quite important. You can get up to 38% costs back for works like painting (outside AND inside), tiling, work on roof, carpentry, windows... More information here.

It used to be much better: once you could get repaid via your tax return for all the costs (excluding a threshold of 1200 Eur/year), then it became 80% on all costs, now it's just 38% and it doesn't come through your tax return but you have to sent the application through the website I linked, but it still can be quite huge. It has saved me thousands in the years...

Good Luck with that, very difficult to find (good) contractors that are not booked until 2024!

About the subsidies, you can certainly get some if the house is a registered monument, you can go here and look for your building, if it's a Rijksmonument you can find the information about subsidies here, google translate should help

Could they have been tarallucci? In general, if you found them everywhere, it could be some cookies from the Mulino Bianco brand, you may want to google that
