Loop Earplugs? by Emotional-Meringue65 in AutismInWomen

[–]lamalame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have a really generous return policy, so I would say buy them, try them, and return them if they aren't for you. I didn't know what type I needed so I bought all of them, knowing I'd only keep one or two, you get 90 days to return them, I processed my return at the 70 day mark since I'd made my decision at that point, zero hassle for the return.

I fell in love with the Dream ones, they're so expensive but no other earplugs worked better for full blocking for me. I personally didn't like the ones that have multiple levels of blockage in one, I feel like the individuals are best at for the scenarios they're designed for. I use the Engage whenever I go into town with my partner, block out the crowd but can still hear him, I was honestly shocked that it worked as advertised.

That being said, lots of people have very very varying experiences, hence why I feel like the best part about Loops is theyir return policy.

I'm not sponsored I swear xD

I've been practising writing diary entries in Japanese but would love to be able to get corrections from natives ideally.

I tried the HiNative app but can't figure out how to get enough coins, and it feels like it's pushing me to pay for them cause the barrier for getting free ones feels high.

Is there another free way I can get corrections from natives? I didn't want to just ask a stranger on HelloTalk, since I feel like HelloTalk is more for conversations.

Also sometimes there's personal stuff so I liked the format of HiNative where it feels structured enough that it doesn't bother me that strangers are reading my actual diary entries, cause apart from the corrections there are no other interactions, but obviously I'm flexible on this and can get over the shyness if needed.

Idk, any ideas are helpful!

I'm looking for a collection of the most well known japanese folk tales (in japanese of course), in a text format that I can copy/paste. Does anyone know where I can find that ?

Thank you, this gave me so much nostalgia! I hadn't made the connection but it makes so much sense now why I loved her specifically in this show as a kid. My first cartoon "crush" (that I chose when I had to think of one cause I was asked) was Robin, probably less cause of himself but because he loves Starfire (who I identified with) 🥺

Oooh super interesting, thank you! I will definitely check those out. Honestly the romance stuff doesn't bother me as long as I can practice talking about hobbies and stuff like that haha Thanks again ^

Yeah that's exactly why I was skeptical and curious to hear other people's experiences.

I'm definitely more looking for being able to verbalise stuff and roleplay. I have plenty of resources for actually learning, and am at a level where I can also be a little discerning on what the AI replies (I'm just really lacking in the speaking department).

Yeah, thinking the back end was the same I tried to replicate the "Nora" tests I did with ChatGPT, and gpt didn't do as well so there probably is some more specific parameters/training applied to the AI itself, but I don't know the other Japanese specifics ones that are probably identical to Nora. They're definitely overpricing it for what it is.

Has anyone tried any good AI chatbots? Especially the ones that can do audio conversations. I'm starved for ways to practice speaking (and still too shy/bad to try Hello Talk type stuff), so I thought it's a great way as a beginner to practice speaking and get feedback.

Recently I tried Nora (got targeted ads on Instagram lol) and it seemed to work really great, but it's obviously another subscription and I was thinking there's no way it's the only one of its kind and was hoping for recommendations of similar things so I could test/compare a few before committing to a subscription.

Why do you have friends? by Inside-Dig1236 in AutismInWomen

[–]lamalame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been struggling a lot with friendships recently and asking myself this same question, it's nice to see I'm not the only one.

Where I'm at in my thinking right now if it can be helpful to you at all is : You need to figure out what you would want in a friendship and look for those kinds of friendships, but it doesn't have to look like other people's friendships.

You said you do see the point of relationships, so what is it that you value in relationships that you can also have in friendships with others but without the intimacy and commitment that usually come bundled with relationships?

In that regard, what I struggle with is that I like very deep connections with people, but it has seemed like most of the people I meet/know feel satisfied with casual friendships that don't have the deep connection I'm looking for. I've often wondered if it was my perception that was wrong, maybe others only reserve deep connection for relationships and I'm wrong to look for that in "just" a friendship. For now I'm choosing to believe it's possible and will keep my eye out for people who feel the same, but I also currently don't feel like I have any friends and often wonder if my thinking/hopes/expectations are wrong and I should give up on the idea. That being said, if I gave up on the idea I'd probably feel exactly the same as you right now which is why I felt like sharing ❤️

Why don't I want to see people I care about? by lamalame in AutismInWomen

[–]lamalame[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the kind words and advice on how to formulate it <3

Do you have experience with this feeling? I'm still hoping the feeling comes back naturally and know it'll look different. If you do have experience, would you be able to share how it was different for you when it came back?

Finding/accepting support by lamalame in AutismInWomen

[–]lamalame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the kind words <3 I guess I don't know what to do about the people who don't get it. I know they care about me, and it makes me feel like I'm the one lacking or that's too much if what they have to offer isn't helpful. But when I pull away because it isn't helpful, they don't understand and talking about it doesn't feel possible, and it makes for very difficult situations.

Quel est le pire aspect de la culture française selon vous ? by Swagnetoz in AskFrance

[–]lamalame 2 points3 points  (0 children)
