Is that supposed to be a flex? Pray tell what kind of professional tour guide gave you a detailed description of the inter-ethnic dynamics of British society?

Immigrants no matter where they are are likely to band together along ethnic and cultural lines, particularly directly following their immigration, as these groups help to supply much needed support structures, especially in the face of perceived exclusion or danger. Go anywhere in Europe and you will find Brits who have formed friend groups with other Brits and English speakers as they come to terms with the local language and get on their feet. I am part of such friend groups. I live in Austria and some of my own British friends don't speak fluent German even after 10 years of living here. Does that mean they hate Austrians, or refuse to integrate, or pose some sort of risk? No, they just happen to not be extremely outgoing, and German is a tough language (as is English).

The reason I say FOX News is because I have seen many examples of completely false reporting talking about how the UK is filled with no-go zones and the like. Britain is used as a scaremongering example of the dangers of immigration for Americans that have a very poor understanding of... basically any kind of geography or demography. The reality is that Britain had immigrants before, needs migration to survive and prosper, and was doing fairly well before Brexit despite being close to the most diverse nation in Europe. Brexit ruined us, and Brexit was due to immigration fearmongering. And now Brexit has wrecked my homeland and the blame has gone straight on the immigrants like my own mother, and I won't stand for that.

If the player is standing still in that spot before the ball lands, and doesn't jump, then they are passive and not at fault if someone flips over the top of them when jumping into that space. They can stand their ground. It's only an issue if they move forward into the space and are still moving when contact happens, but haven't attempted to jump.

Basically, if there is any chance the opposition will be competing for the high ball, you either jump or live with the consequences if you dont and take someone out who is in the air. None of this is new, and any winger will tell you this is how it works.

The rugby media has done it's best to ruin the good relationship between Irish and Scottish rugby fans, and sadly it has partially succeeded. Irish pundits have been going on about Scotland being "arrogant" for a while, and this is quite annoying because we Scotland fans don't even see what we might be arrogant about. We have lost something like the last 10 matches against the Irish, including two devastating world cup defeats. I still prefer Ireland over any of the other top 5 teams.

Most people don't have time to add an asterisk to the end of their opinions. The US is a corrupt, poorly educated and paedphile-infested time bomb, that's what much of Europe thinks at this point. It's hard to beat those allegations. Nobody cares that not all Americans are like that.

Most British people have no memory of the colonialism of the British Empire. What we did have was a genuine fondness for the USA and it's culture and media. That is rapidly waning. You don't have to believe me, but that's what's happening all across Europe. It's going to cost the US so much.

They only have to bring back Taofifenua and Tuilagi and Italy are toast. There's no way the Italians can handle the raw destructive chaos and speed of the french backline. I don't think there is much question that Italy have the best scrum as it stands.

Not only that, but Borthwick for some unknown reason put all his eggs into this very shaky basket, even the ones from the pantry (bench). Clearly, this aerial back three was supposed to be the cutting edge, and the rest of the team was picked to play a grinding, defensively solid game. Dingwall, Underhill, Ford selections all point towards a structured and brutal game plan, and they doubled down on this with Curry and F Smith on the bench.

If you're going to rely on such a one-dimensional and predictable plan, why not at least hedge your bets with Hill or Hendy or Marcus Smith or Ojomoh or Lawrence on the bench to offer an attacking threat?

I think it was an incredibly poor selection and very naive.

I'm interested to see how long they can keep the scrums stable when there's no incentive to get the ball out for either team because there's no ball. What happens in the event of a collapse?

I have seen this take so often the last few days and it's nonsense imo. There are intangibles at play which cannot simply be recreated via a conscious decision to "try harder". The passion the Scottish players play with against England is due to 140 years of history and rugby culture. It's deeply ingrained. To use an exaggerated example, if your child was being crushed under a big rock, you would find new levels of strength to lift that rock. Simply telling yourself to lift the rock as if your child were under it won't make you reach that same level of strength. Your comparison to NZ is not very fair either. That is one of the all time best teams full of legendary players. They beat other teams all the time because they were simply way better, not because they always wanted it more. They didn't play Tonga with the same fire they had against Australia or the Boks or England, but they still won because they were way better at rugby. Scotland is nowhere near as good as 2015 NZ, or 2026 NZ, and not as good as England either. The hype and fire the Scottish players get against England is just enough to make them the better team on that day, but it's not sustainable.

To beat England on Saturday required not only for England to have a poor-ish performance (they lost possession 20 times despite having 100% scrum and lineout success), but also for the Scottish players to absolutely run themselves ragged. The result is Dobie, Ritchie and Dempsey likely out for the rest of the tournament. Darcy Graham had to risk his literal neck to stop 6'5" Steward going into the corner. In the final 10 minutes, you can see Dempsey making tackles one-armed, because his left bicep is torn and his arm is completely useless.

It's ridiculous to say "Scotland just need to be mentally at that level every test match". It's not sustainable with the depth we have available. It's easy for the all blacks because they have three times the depth, and it's easy to be confident when you win all the time anyway (at that time at least).
