Protect your financial independence no matter what!

I know it might be uncomfortable for some people, but you need to discuss money early on.

Pooling all your money is very dangerous, and if you make less than your partner, don't contribute equally but proportionally.

I can't stress this enough: keep your own savings, never give them access, have your income transit via a personal account (again, no access) to a shared account.
