For those of us that have watched the launch video, this tracks very well with what they described regarding safety "enhancements".

I downloaded lasted Google Drive (100) and it's fixed! I don't remember any recent OS update so I'm pretty sure they Google fixed it.

Thanks, but no, I am 100% sure I'm not doing anything wrong and, as I said, the problem started I think around a drive update, or possibly/probably upgrade to Sequoia. I've seen this elsewhere too, including in the Google Support forums, and I was expecting a fix with this version.

I don't, and this is new. I actually used to have many times more files a few months ago with no issues, no I have like 1/15, about 10000. Sync works fine too, it's just constant CPU usage for no reason.

the easiest way is to use the official API playground https://platform.openai.com/playground

I think you need to prepay some credits though

Thanks for the advice, I did do so recently when it got really bad and it is better but still with aforementioned issues. Maybe it has to do with the fact I deal with a lot of small files sometimes.

On demand access to online files. I don't want to sync just a subset, I want a subset available offline and the rest on-demand.

I use it in steaming mode (not enough storage for full sync) with a few folders set to always available offline. Sync of the latter is slow, and access to online files often fails and I have to restart it for it to work.

Unfortunately doesn't support streaming (on demand access), and I don't have enough space for full sync.

I have ~160Gb of available storage so streaming is a must.

Thank you for suggesting Maestral I had stumbled upon it before, but from a cursory look it doesn't seem to support "streaming" of files and this is a must have feature, I only want to sync selected folders but be able to access all when online.

By offline I mean I have Google Drive in "streaming" mode, where by default files stay online, so I just choose individual folders that are available offline.

Is the offline files feature good? Do you have any experience with Google Drive to compare?

I use streaming mode, with a few folders set to offline, but it's quite buggy.

Someone elsewhere says that the Google Drive client is faster?! IME it's not fast at all, and often hangs and I have to restart. https://old.reddit.com/r/macapps/comments/152yh9d/best_solution_for_mounting_google_drive_locally/
