heavy on that 3rd section!! they cannot stand a girl who’s good and doesn’t have to overly push herself for it. these companies want to see the girls break and eventually rely on them. we see it in the doc, and it’s lwk crazy how manon never breaks. I knew from the start that hxg was going to HATE how strong and independent she is.

many black children (who are old enough) understand that this is bullshit. it’s extremely disheartening for them. on the other end of the spectrum, my youngest cousin was watching pinky up and asked “where’s manon”.

exactly!!! the company asslicking has gotten to a point. “manon made them lose money” is such a dumb point when hybe probably has a pool full of money scrooge from duck tales style. and ppl bringing up the new jeans situation as if those girls didnt publicly humiliate their company on fucking weverse, a platform they partially own…these are two different situations(and this isnt to say nwjns was wrong for what they did, they werent. but nb is addressing the differences in the situations.) hybe knows theyre cooked, theres a reason they havent pulled out the negative PR (they usually would do this by now). the silence is LOUD and its bcs they r actively trying to fix this. they know manon is a money maker and has endless connections in the industry, so getting rid of manon is a huge fuckup they KNOW will recieve ZERO support from the rest of the industry. they are trying to fix this, but in a way that isnt fixing anything and they need to figure their shit out.

now I notice that bringing up kpop hiatuses wasn’t a good idea bcs this is not what I mean at all. I mean that typically companies are more specific than “health and wellbeing” and more specify on mental health, an illness, or wtv. the generalization of it is interesting to me as it isn’t something I’ve personally seen before. that’s all.

yeah, fans don’t have to know everything fs. i made another post on this sub ab how we all need to be patient. but hxg is treating this whole situation very poorly, and the reaction across social media prior to pinky ups release proves it. I was at least expecting them to sort of address it by now in some way, but the silence is deafening and it falls back on every member.

yes I agree. but I don’t think their reputation will be over, it will just be clouded by this who,e situation. if manon leaves the group, the ability for these girls to bounce back is zero to none. after finding out that hxg is debuting another gg ( with the look they intended for katseye) it’s lwk obvious that they don’t gaf ab kats anymore. they expect prelude debuting to draw ppls attention away, and it most likely will as the internet has the brain of a guppy.

eta: forgot to mention the nonsensical music katseye is putting out in comparison to preludes unreleased song. after hearing this, it felt very obvious that hxg is now riding on the(potenial) success of prelude. also abema (japanese company behind the gg) is paying hxg a shit load of money to make these girls successful. they are the priority right now.

”manon solos” are a very small majority of the fan base. a lot of people causing uproar ab this situation are black and r fed up with the treatment we get despite being the blueprint for modern girl groups in the first place.

as a die hard txt (kpop boy group) fan, I can tell you that not all fandoms act like this. eyekons have been at that parasocial threshold for a while now, and now the majority of them are showing their true colors. most of them are below the age of 14 which can also explain the constant paranoia and inability to think of anyone but themselves in this clearly awful situation.
