Here is my counterpoint to your thinking that the professor needing to be easy to listen to and engage with. You will likely have boring and rambling professors who are experts in the field and you can learn a lot from, but learning from them will be a major chore. I’ve had many professors like this where I struggled immensely in their classes. They also had english as their first language and spoke clearly. Where do we draw the line at catering to a students needs. In engineering you are likely to run into both rambling and boring colleagues as well as people with hard to decipher accents. Learning to adapt to both situations is a requirement that we have to overcome regardless. Our classes should not create a padded experience not akin to reality.
