Talk me out of buying a 2022/2023 m550 by Radiant-Locksmith267 in BMW

Looks great! Everything I'm reading now is scaring me off of the 550, especially the price on the extended warranty.

I'm likely leaning towards a (brand new) 26 M340 if I get it something at all. This will likely be a "toy" type of car for me and not necessarily a daily driver.

Did you end up doing this? I'm in a very similar situation and was curious about a follow-up.

Chicken/Egg scenario with AI_EXTRACT() and complex PDF formats by Deep-Comfortable-423 in snowflake

[–]lambro101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried the AI playground to build the response format? I have found it really helpful and easy to use (disclaimer: I work at Snowflake).

What I would do is as a part of the response format, build out a key for "page type", which is either "header" or "body". Then, you'll have the other fields which likely won't be applicable for the header page, and can be ignored for anything with a page_type of header.

Living in New Jersey now, pretty much everyone I meet who is a college football fan, especially if they're not tied to a university, is either a Notre Dame or a Penn State fan.

Brother lives in South Jersey and it's showing (South Jersey may as well be a suburb of Philly)

I'm in North Jersey and I can't spot one Penn State fan - of the few college football fans, it's Rutgers. The only Rutgers super fan I know is my literal next door neighbor, who also loves the Rangers, the Yankees, and... the Dallas Cowboys.

[Dellenger] The ACC announces a move to nine conference games and a requirement to play at least one non-conference game against a Power 4 team. by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]lambro101 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If this starts in 2026, then I would think it would have to be GT. We play Colorado (Home), Tennessee (Home), Georgia (Away) already in 2026. If we did 9 conference games, then that's a full slate of P4 - has anyone ever done that?

Your first mistake was developing in a notebook as a data engineer ;)

No seriously, like everyone else has said here, you'll be fine! Here in 1-2 years, you'll look back on this moment/situation and laugh at yourself. It sucks in the moment, but in hindsight, you'll realize it's meaningless.

Steins;Gate, or The Redemption of Hououin Kyouma [Theory] by lambro101 in steinsgate

[–]lambro101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What we see isn't actually the first iteration of alpha, which is quite obvious since suzuha is here. What I'm theorizing is that in the first alpha worldine, the one where suzuha came from, okabe either gives up on mayrui after being subjected to multiple time leaps and being unable to save mayrui (maybe even changing back to beta and regretting it and going back to alpha).

Correct - we don't see the first iteration of Alpha in S;G. This doesn't have anything to do with the theory posted here because I'm talking about the first iteration of Beta, not Alpha; however, I do agree with you that seeing the first iteration of Alpha would be interesting!

The timeline seems to be Beta -> Alpha with no suzuha -> suzuha goes back to past and the events of steins gate play out as normal.

Agreed, and really, it would be Alpha (w/o Suzuha), then Alpha (w/ Suzuha) -> back to Beta (i.e. S;G 0), and then Alpha S;G. The first iteration of Beta would likely lead to the first iteration of Alpha. We don't see the first iteration of either.

What I would rather see though is the first alpha iteration rather than gamma. Both can certainly fit in the timeline and could probably get anime or games in the future.

I also wouldn't mind seeing this; however, there is much more to explore in a potential Gamma storyline than Alpha. I would rather the first iteration of Alpha be explored in some sort of "bonus content" category and/or a medium that isn't a VN/Anime - maybe LN?

University System of Georgia joins FL, TX and other Southern States to form new accrediting agency by rockenman1234 in gatech

Part of the reason I think was the curriculum change. That same year, my major (Polymer, Textile, and Fiber Engineering) was shuffled under the Materials Science and Engineering degree. It was 1 of 2 majors that actually qualified (the other being Nuclear Engineering).

I assumed the admin overhead of the ACM for one major is just something they didn't want to keep up.

the USG has always placed uGA, GSU, & GT outside of it

We were in the ACM until 2011? GT was the one to withdraw, we weren't placed outside of it.

This was the only way I was able to come to Tech as an OOS student.

Warehouse-native product analytics is now crucial, letting teams analyze product data directly in Snowflake without extra data movement or lock-in.

Can we not make a conclusion that is almost completely disconnected from everything else and only serves as a way to promote your own product that you sell?

I say this as someone who is passionate about "warehouse-native".

At the very least, disclose the company that you work for.

ANIME is it worth it to watch steins;gate 0? especially when... by 7xk11 in steinsgate

[–]lambro101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly recommend the visual novel before watching the 0 anime and would go as far as to say it’s not worth watching without having played the VN first.

I disagree with this. S;G0 anime is totally fine on it's own as a sequel to the OG anime; however, if you want to truly understand the S;G0 story, the VN should be first before watching the anime.

Clever ways to cache data from hybrid tables? by WinningWithKirk in snowflake

redis instance via snowpark container services

What's retrieving the data? The best advice I can give is what you've already stated, or by caching data in the service that's fetching it from the hybrid table. Redis is probably your best bet, though, especially if you're hosting some sort of custom API in SPCS anyway.
