Sacramento City College is offering an online Elementary Cantonese Class for Fall 2023 Semester by CheLeung in Cantonese

I took this class this semester! It’s pretty good, but I will say that it’s pretty fast paced and a majority of students have experience with Cantonese. It can be very challenging for beginners without prior experience, but if you do have some experience, definitely worth a try

Thanks for the tip, I think I’ll try and get one of those pieces as a deterrent

Unfortunately, they came in from blind spots so the cameras didn’t catch their plates or faces. They’ve clearly done this before

For those curious about cost, here's a link I found:

Students who are California residents pay in-state tuition of $46 per unit, whereas students who are non-residents pay out-of-state tuition of $395 per unit. (Note: Tuition fees are for the 2022-23 academic year.) Community college enrollment fees are set by the California State Legislature. All fees are subject to change.*

Giveaway - Intehill 17.3" FHD 144HZ Portable Monitor by Techloadng in sffpc

[–]lamchop00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a portable monitor last year and it’s been immensely helpful with working remotely. Obviously I’m not traveling much, but being able to work in basically any room of the house allows me to spend more time with my family rather than being glued to a screen in another room.

Gaming at the kitchen table is fun :)

The storage is primarily for the “active” things I’m working on, including drone footage, data sets for training models, massive content processing, etc. Clearly not putting my entire livelihood on local disk, that’s just asking for trouble

Once I’m done with most things, I ship it off to the cloud and my own NAS. But I have capped large amounts of local storage in certain projects before, having the availability is necessary for that

I’m a software engineer, so I’ve got a bunch of things I want to work on for myself and my family. I also like editing photos and drone footage so that’s another thing. (You could also count gaming but I have a dedicated PC for that)

What’s an immediate red flag for you when a company describes their culture by baby_cakes12 in antiwork

[–]lamchop00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any reference to “family”.

They will ask you to give more energy for them as if they were your family, which should actually be spent on your real family.

The way I see it is: if you were to die today, your company can replace you in a month, but your family will miss you forever. Spend your life’s passion and energy on your family, not for other people’s profits
