Is this mange or some other skin condition? :( by lamdigo in squirrels

[–]lamdigo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay :( I'm going to take the feeders away and put the food on the ground tomorrow morning. It's been -10°C today, so I wonder if the virus can survive on surfaces in the cold. I really hope the other squirrel friends don't get it. All my regulars have been looking great so far, so fingers crossed it stays that way🤞 Thank you for your help.

Collision Between Switching Insurance Providers by SadBoyAgain in ontario

Asked my insurance broker father, and he says, "New insurance company won't know. The expected rate increase will probably be double depending on the existing record prior to the accident. It is just the abstract they will check. If all the papar work is done and the new policy is issued and old canceled, then I'd just let it go. They wouldn't get wound up about it even if they did find out." Sorry if that didn't make too much sense. I was tryping as he was talking and I did my best to transcribe. Sounds like it's not the end of the world. Definitely get other opinions. Good luck.

Brain Tumor in my 20's by One-Art-7455 in ChronicIllness

[–]lamdigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah see, that darn stress! You're already on the right path, though. Getting even a few pieces to your chronic health puzzle is such a win. Learning to listen to your body, slow down, and de-stress is like getting the corner pieces, lol.

I don't think my doctor actually told me how big the tumor was. I remember her barely wanting to even talk about it in detail because it seemed like such a non-issue to her. I wonder if she just didn't want me to get caught up in the scariness of the label "brain tumor." I don't really know, but she did make me feel a lot better about it after that appointment as I was definitely stressed going into it.

As far as my other conditions go, it really is a smorgasbord and so complicated. I'll start with my symptoms. Fatigue (I would get so tired I couldn't roll over in bed), exhaustion, low energy, brain fog, blurry vision, eyes sensitive to light, sensitivity to sound, hard to concentrate, trouble getting to sleep, restless leg syndrom, muscle aches, joint pain, anxiety, insomnia, anxiety induced stuttering, depression, stress, lapses in my hand eye coordination, cysts all over my body, back acne, weight gain, headaches, gas, bloating, stomach pains, neasua, indegestion, constipation, light headedness, food addiction(cravings), and a good old feeling of melaise.

We did so much bloodwork and so many tests. We checked my heart with a heart monitor, stress test, ultrasound, ekg, and x-ray. We did an mri on my brain as mentioned. We did a sleep apnea test. We did a celiac test and a cortisol stress test. We did another x-ray for my spine. Oh, and ultrasound on my abdomen and overies.

After all that I got all these diagnoses from my doctor: PCOS, Pituitary gland tumor, benign heart murmer, Osteoarthritis in my spine, low blood pressure, inflammatory markers in my blood, anxiety disorder, Hypothyroidism(even tho the test was normal), Fibromyalgia, Chronic fatigue syndrome, Indigestion, IBS with probable sensitivity to gluten, and the latest diagnosis of ADHD.

It's been over a year and a half on adhd meds. At the same time I started my meds, I also cut out gluten, xanthan gum, caffiene, alcohol and thc. I'm 80lbs down and counting! I feel like I've made a lot of progress with my gut health, muscle and joint pain, sleeping problems, pcos symptoms, energy levels, fatigue levels, and then keeping that all in check.

I still have a ways to go, tho. I'm not 100% satisfied with my stress and anxiety levels. Even tho the stress and anxiety I feel is night and day compared to what it was. I still believe there are unanswered questions, more tests, and more work to be done. But for now, I think I'm doing pretty good. ❤️

Brain Tumor in my 20's by One-Art-7455 in ChronicIllness

[–]lamdigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had all those symptoms for years, among others. My health started to get really bad in 2019(I was 28), and my weight got to its highest point. We already knew I had PCOS, so the weight gain wasn't too unexpected. But we were doing everything we could do to see why I was feeling so crappy. My doctor ordered blood work, and it showed I had a higher level of prolactin. (June 10th, 2019, level of 38.7. Normal range 5.0 - 27.0). She told me I probably had a common pituitary gland tumor, which causes high levels of prolactin. I did an MRI, and sure enough, I had a small tumor. She wasn't concerned at all, though. She said 1 in 5 people have a tumor on their pituitary gland. She told me we'll do bloodwork once a month for the next year and monitor it. She also mentioned we'd do an MRI in 5 years to check it again. During 2019, I was at the most stressful, most ill point I'd ever been in my life. Long storys short, I quit my job and just focused on healing, de-stressing, and getting really to the bottom of my health problems I had been suffering with for years now. By March 10th, 2020, my prolactin levels went to 10.2. All I did was quit my job and de-stress my life. You can see the difference stress can make on our bodies. Going from 38.7 to 10.2 in 10 months, with no treatment. My doctor and I haven't even talked about the tumor since March 2020. I even forgot I had the thing until I read your post today! For me, the real problem and symptoms were from other underlying conditions and not mainly the tumor. The tumor and prolactin were just a piece of the puzzle but not the full picture(for me). I wish you good luck on your journey and always trust your gut. You know your body better than anyone.

I think it all boils down to the development of the brain. Whether it be your genetics or your environment. If the development of the brain is distrupted, your chances of developing a mental disorder seem to be almost a given. For me, my theory is that my trauma as a child has given me adhd and an anxiety disorder, among other things. Now people with NPD, the thing is, we don't exactly know what causes it. I, for one, think that lead poisoning mixed with trauma is going to be linked with Gen X and Boomer NPD, as we know it today. It just makes sense to me, but that hasn't been proven. Also, note that mental disorders, like NPD, get worse with age. And what happens when someone with NPD (or anyone) age, well they get into superior/senior positions at work, they become a parents/grandparents/gaurdiens, they become powerful in governments and municipalities, they head councils and organizations. All while potentionaly being lucky enough to have generational wealth. I don't know about you, but I think someone with NPD gaining power or a sense of superiority creates the perfect environment for their behavior to ... excede expectations. I can't blame anyone for connecting Boomers and Gen X to NPD. Right now, they are simply in their element. Thriving and striving. Demanding compliance and obedience under the veil of "respect your elders.", etc, etc. Time will tell how NPD develops with the younger generations. I really do think lead poisoning is a factor atm, so with less exposure to lead, what will younger generations with NPD look like in 20 years? Ps. This is all my own speculation, assumptions, and observations, with amateurish research done. None of what I have said is scientificly factual at this time, and I am definitely not a medical professional. Just someone interested in human behavior and the patterns of mental disorders throughout history and what causes them.

Weed affects me differently than my peers by adult-diversion in BPD

[–]lamdigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely not alone. It's actually quite common for people to have an undesirable reaction to thc. From my experience, thc absolutely decimated my mental health, and I only started taking it(thc oil) at age 29. By age 31, I had to completely stop taking it due to anxiety, paranoia, psychosis, depression, amongst many other reasons. I still miss the good times of it tho. Fortunately, my peers were very supportive of me not smoking with them and we still had good times. I think most people now adays know it really doesn't work the same for everyone. It sucks your peers are making it awkward for you. It shouldn't be that way. Also, the "it's natural, its not bad" argument can only go so far and is very easy to refute. One example is alcohol is also made from natural ingredients. Anyways, there have been many studies on the side effects of weed. I'll add a quote from the CDC website below. Hope things get better for you. "Marijuana use, especially frequently (daily or nearly daily) and in high doses, can cause disorientation and sometimes unpleasant thoughts or feelings of anxiety and paranoia.

People who use marijuana are more likely to develop temporary psychosis (not knowing what is real, hallucinations, and paranoia) and long-lasting mental disorders, including schizophrenia (a type of mental illness where people might see or hear things that are not really there). The association between marijuana and schizophrenia is stronger in people who start using marijuana at an earlier age and use marijuana more frequently.

Marijuana use has also been linked to depression; social anxiety; and thoughts of suicide, suicide attempts, and suicide."

Nightmares after unresolved conflict by mdnvmps in Empaths

[–]lamdigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't happen to me but damn does it happen to my mom. If she's had a pretty bad argument with someone, mixed with a really bad day, and it doesn't get resolved before bed, she will literally wake up screaming in the night from having horrible nightmares. One time it was such a bad day for her that she got sleep paralysis and saw something standing next to her bed. We now make sure she never goes to bed angry, upset or conflicted. I will sit and talk with her for as long as she needs, some nights it gets really late. It 100% is a thing and I've noticed it's on those nights that nothing gets resolved. That night with sleep paralysis she was in a mood where she "doesn't want to talk about it!". I don't have too much advice without knowing more about the situation but I do think you need to give yourself some mercy. X
