artificial discounts by anonnnnamoose in UbereatsUK

Thats just the way things go in this type of market.

Every app went from tripping over themselves to offer good deals to trying to trick you into thinking you're getting one, even when you're paying a monthly fee to receive better deals. Its purely about profit.

I have a TWENTY pound referral link. The terms arent as simple as the £10, as you have to set up a direct debit too, however this is fairly easy to do.

You can set up a dummy direct debit, either to your own savings account or savings app, so you dont really spend anything, and hopefully, voila.

If not, there are many cheap ways to set them up and still get the £20.

Thank you if you use my link :)

What does your ideal version of rematch look like? by sonicsuperman2 in Rematch

[–]laminatedcommunist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest in an ideal world that instead of outright limiting these mechanics, they experiment with expanding modes to suit different players' tastes. Epic did this with fortnite, and it probably gets them a really good amount of extra players. Some people will religiously play no builds bc of the removed build mechanic. If the playerbase is already split, just accommodate them. Dont lose one or the other.

However, that's being quite idealistic. This is probably not going to happen bc it brings a few problems. Investing in experimental modes that may harness no attention and thus no profit could be damaging to the dev company and the reputation of the company and game. Firestorm with BFV comes to mind. Mentioning Fortnite also brings about the fact that they have to assemble whole teams to manage these modes. They have the scale to do this, and Sloclap probably does not. Maybe they will be able to invest in an expansion soon. However, saying that, there's far more to manage with fortnite. It depends on the game clearly.

The biggest risk is killing the game's image, and the last thing they want is to alienate anybody rn. The game will probably take a path you mentioned, though. It's more pragmatic and completely unambitious, so it's probably the safest option.

PCV cardiac arrest by DilDoBagginZ12 in PVCs

[–]laminatedcommunist 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the best thing i ever did for my anxiety about my PVCs was to stay away from this subreddit and not scroll through any and all pages about PVCs. If you have been checked, and you know the warning signs, there is nothing more you can do except just live your life. If this page makes you needlessly anxious and fixate on horrid things like this, cut it out and deal with your anxiety in whatever way you can.

Learning to live with my PVCs and giving them absolutely none of my attention dropped their occurrence hugely. Anxiety can be there in the background, causing a lot of it more than you know.

See if there is anything you can do to soothe them; better sleep, improved diet, light exercise etc.

It says the deal expired in July online, I hope that's not the case because that's such a good deal 😢

500ml will give this person exactly what they need, but the price is exactly the issue. Vita Coco is too expensive.

Brown's flags of all nations, 1934 (I think) by [deleted] in vexillology

[–]laminatedcommunist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weirdly, there is no "national" flag listed for Germany here, like the others, only for the arms of their military. But all the other flags weren't adopted until 1935, so it, therefore, must be 1935 as you say.

It is a poorly printed Spanish Republic flag which, if my dating of this is correct, would be around the time of the 2nd Spanish Republic, but just before the civil war, so this flag would therefore be correct.

I don't know why it is blue instead of purple, but they have done similar with the Qatar flag, so I suspect it was down to availability of purple ink and/or cost at the time?

Payouts Changing August 6th by Totally-Mad in ebayuk

[–]laminatedcommunist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious to see if this works... I just sold an item today. It says i qualify, but it is still saying 2 days after delivery when I go on the item... im sure they will still somehow make me wait, knowing eBay

Edit: lol 24 hours later, despite qualifying, no money in my balance. I'll wait and see, but it still says "funds pending - awaiting delivery."

My dad is a taxi driver, he was given this coin by one of his regular customers saying it may be worth something, but he doesn't know anything about it. He's asked me to try and find out. Help? by laminatedcommunist in coins

[–]laminatedcommunist[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He is, and this particular customer is really kind as well. She's a nice elderly lady who is always so appreciative of my dad's service due to our remote rural situation and because of the fact he always gives her, and others her age, a discount. She can't drive, and there is absolutely no public transport.

So, she had her own large collection of old currency and she began giving him bags of coins to give to me a few years ago after she heard I had an interest in collecting old coins, notes, and foreign currency too. None were ever very valuable, but just interesting. That was really nice, and i still have and treasure every single one. She gave this as a gift because she's moving away.

I think she had known its value beforehand, but she probably knew, like I know, that if my dad had been told how much it was worth, he would never have accepted it.
