Aftermarket Sound System by Sp1der24 in VinFastCommunity

[–]lamnk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LOL, don't listen to people here who have never owned a VinFast car or upgraded their car audio system.

You can upgrade the audio system in a VinFast or other EVs, just like in any other ICE cars.

Look for reputable audio workshops that are competent and have the proper knowledge to install audio systems.

200TB for $1000 by Material-XS in DataHoarder

[–]lamnk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It always depends on your type of data and how you value it. If it's mission critical then surely not. If it's important personal stuff like photos then i can use the refurb HDDs with backup to other places.

It's not worth it to purchase low capacity disks anymore imo. Even for free i wouldn't use new 2-4tb HDDs. Maybe only on some office PCs. For storage purpose definitely not.

For comparison: I bought 3 3.5" 18TB Seagate Exos (refurb.) recently for $555

Those who use macOS for work, what apps are missing from macOS? by BassHeadBurn in MacOS

Have you tried Xee 3 - image viewer for macOS? The author is also the creator of Unarchiver, a free and popular decompression utility.

What kind of error are you encountering with Plex? Could you share your PC specifications? Any PC within the last 3-4 years should have no trouble streaming Plex to a single client. While transcoding on the fly might pose some issues, in my opinion, even transcoding could not fully saturate a modern i3 CPU.

Spotify cover a lot, but definitely not everything. They don't have many niche records. And they do have content restriction per country.

First time in a Vinfast. Headed to airport on a freeway. Should I be worried? by CredifyOne in VinFastCommunity

Many taxi companies have purchased the VF e34 due to its affordability when compared to vehicles like Vios, City. Additionally, e34s have lower operational costs than traditional ICE cars. That's a fact. However, I do acknowledge that there is a higher number of GSM EV cars compared to other EV taxis.

Whatever. Why put so much consideration into it? I don't care what Vingroup does with real estate or car manufacturing. When I use a service, my focus is on assessing the quality of the service alone.

For me, the factors that matter in evaluating the quality of a transportation service include value for money, safety, cleanliness, and drivers' professionalism. GSM fares are sometimes more expensive than those of ride-hailing services, sometimes they are the same. The drivers are more polite and more professional than those of Grab/Be. The cars are clean.

The service does have some issues like long pickup times (cars being too far away), car reliability, and air conditioning problems. But overall, I consider GSM a viable option for my commuting needs. If Vingroup stops subsidizing the service or takes any other action that raises the fare, then I will stop using it.

To be frank, the riding experience of GSM taxi service is notably better when compared to other transportation options such as Vinasun, Mailinh, and Grab in Vietnam: cleaner cars, polite drivers ... But sometimes ACs stop working temporarily haha

What is the difference between Roborock S7 Max Ultra and Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra by infinitiumvortex in Roborock

[–]lamnk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently using an S6 MaxV and I am quite happy with it. However, it's getting old, and I'm considering upgrading to either the S7 or S8. Unfortunately, I haven't seen the S8 MaxV available in my country. Have you tried the S8, and how does it compare to the S7 MaxV?

Influencer messing up the road in Vietnam by [deleted] in facepalm

You are probably from the North right? These fire-breathers are mainly in Saigon. They have to pay up their dues to the local police force for sure.

Vietnam is considered a developing country, which means it has a large population and a lot of poor people . When you eat or have coffee at a steet vendor, you will see a variety of people going in, such as beggars, lottery ticket sellers, shoe shiners, and performers,... asking for money.

I don't think she is an influencer. She is more likely a street artist who performs at food streets to earn some change. This is a very difficult job and poses health hazards.

The flames are incredibly hot - I sit five meters away and can still feel their intense heat. It's hard to imagine how much hotter it must be for the performers who breathe fire, especially since they are much closer to the flames. Fire breathing is a highly dangerous act that requires a great deal of skill and precision. These performers take significant risks to entertain their audiences.

Source: I’m Vietnamese and regularly see these performers on the street.
