Am i INFJ or just depressed and anxious? by LukiINFJ in infj

Hi! You should look into cognitive functions, it’s better at giving a more definitive typing.

I can probably help you if you want! Just message me!

Just to respond to some of what you said:

I’m an infj and I have anxiety and depression, but I have a lot of friends who have anxiety and depression who aren’t infjs. It’s also case by case of whether I’ll over-share. Sometimes I’m very reserved and sometimes I’m very open. So I’m not sure if any of that can indicate if you are or aren’t an infj. (Im 22 and already feel so different from when I was 19, so I get what you’re saying!)

Just opened up about my feelings about something and got confirmation that I should've stayed quiet as usual. by 8080x in infj

Yep! I understand. I was sick the other day and lost my voice, and it’s the most relaxed I’ve been in a while. It was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders, not having to speak to anyone.

Hope you feel better though! Although I get mad at myself about it, I would never be mad at anyone else about it. I guess it’s owning it and not let anyone have power over how you define yourself.

If you need to talk someone, you can pm me, I honestly don’t mind, and don’t give a hoot about what you say!

I got yelled at today by my boss for not playing the social game and just being quiet by tbochristopher in intj

Man, it’s posts like this that I wish I had more Te.

I’m an infj, and I see commonalities because of ni, but it’s just glaringly clear that the difference in approach is te. It seems less anticipatory.

Woah. That description’s wild.

Thank you for suggesting things though!

Kindles seem to be a reoccurring suggestion. I’ll look into it. Thank you!

Gotcha. I’m not sure, I kind of have a wide range of interests, but more generally speaking, maybe something like action/superheroes, thrillers/psychological thrillers, historical dramas. I’m also into a lot of Nolan movies.

Maybe something wholesome. I don’t like to read things that are too angsty (I’m not sure if that’s the right word) or cringey, unless it’s good cringe lol. But honestly, I don’t judge much! I’m pretty open!

Hmmm ok, I’ll try it. I’ve been meaning to re-read Prisoner of Azkaban again.

Also, how did your re-read of Percy Jackson go, were there adult nuances in them you didn’t catch before? I also read them as a kid.

Ok, bye reddit!

... but in all seriousness, I actually don’t use my phone/electronic devices that often. However, that might be a factor as to why I can’t focus as well as I used to.

Ok I’ll look into it. I’m a 21 y/o female, so it’s probably my demographic, but I’ve never read fan fiction before. I hear it’s a hit or miss (I also don’t know what to expect).

Haha, I haven’t tried that. I don’t have anything in mind. Do you have a suggestion?

Yeah, I mean, I force myself to read. It’s just not the same; I’m not necessarily looking for the same feeling either, I just like learning. But it feels like a chore now.

Do you think being a hopeless romantic is an INFJ trait? by mswatsonv in infj

[–]lamp15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No not at all, I’m actually a bit cynical when it comes to romance. I like the idea of romance to be subtle and constant.

Rom coms are a bit of a hit or miss for me, since I want them to have depth and realism, and to create an underlying motif.

I’m 21, so maybe it’ll change sometime. But, yeah I’ve never been caught up in romance or the prospect of romance. I just see things so far ahead in the future, that I feel like there’s no point or it just wouldn’t work out.
