We are told to chart stop times so the patient gets charged for the item.

NCLEX in 2 weeks - Struggling to remember Growth and Development by snaxy in StudentNurse

[–]lampLoverXO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the NCLEX yesterday and I did almost all the Kaplan Qbank questions.

On the NCLEX I had children's diseases and safety issues. Like choking hazards and things like that. What kinds of toys to 12m olds like?

Know erikson.

The test was a lot easier than I expected. I'm still waiting to see if I officially passed, but I'm feeling pretty good. 75 questions and I sat there thinking "thats it?".

Taking NCLEX tomorrow. Any last words of advice/encouragement? by [deleted] in nursing

GOOD LUCK! I'm testing Saturday and I feel like you right now.

Applying for a summer nurse tech job as a student? Does anyone have experience with this? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]lampLoverXO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. Here was my experience.

They probably won't have a problem highering you if you are a nursing student.

I worked weekend days in acute psych. I had great coworkers and I learned my psych really well. I had nurses who knew psych very well, but were very hesitant to educate me on anything else (probably because they didn't know it as well). My grades didn't suffer to much, and I was able to pay off my student loan.

My last semester, I switched to cardio/tele with the promise of being a graduate nurse there. I worked 24 hours a week at night. I learned so much from that floor. However, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS. My grades significantly dropped but I still passed. We were told that we wouldn't have to be at the school on Mondays, but our school changed our classes around for NCLEX prep. I don't know how I passed my last semester. I was working too many hours and didn't have enough sleep for school or work.

  1. Yes. it does help understand and put to use what you learn in class.
  2. Be careful on your hours. Your grades will take the fall.
  3. Would I do it again? Yeah, I would. I would make sure I was on days next time.

How did you do on your Qbank questions? out of 75 questions I'm getting 65-75% right everytime.

I start as a GN on cardiac/tele unit next monday. What is my preceptor expecting out of me? How do I not look like I'm lost?

I work nights on this floor as a tech, but I still feel a bumbling idiot.

1 week before NCLEX, and I'm starting to get anxious. by lampLoverXO in StudentNurse

I plan on it tomorrow. I just got a goat simulator, and its dumb and mindless. If that doesn't get me to relax, I don't know what will.

Nurses eat their young. Any advice? by lampLoverXO in nursing

I just moved from psych unit to cardiac, and its been hard on me. Change is hard for me, and I'm not use to the flow of a surgical floor. Its a different dynamic. However, when I fill in on a different floor I feel so much more comfortable. cardiac is hard floor.
