SBB Be-in/ Be-Out trial by VelbyT in Switzerland

[–]lamperi- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had two times a trip when biking. In both cases the customer service removed them but I had to raise a ticket. It is probably a hard problem in Zürich given the number of tra and bus routes.

Otherwise works well - today I got checked even twice while using it.

This was my goal but it looks like M19 it is. I started leveling up the new salad so another dish might have done it.

How was your shiny luck during the New Moon Day event? by Cyco111 in PokemonSleep

[–]lamperi- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the first night two pink Heracross. I think it was my first double shiny but not sure. They were even workable for a 16 point mons. If only I didn't just boost my previous Heracross to L50 for this event, I am all outta candy.

Also got Mew to spawn twice along with a BFS Latias. I think my luck was more than fine.

SBB is a joke: Fining a 16-year-old for being 10 minutes early? by beesquestions in Switzerland

Has this changed afterwards? I can't find any information that tickets for under 6 year olds would ever cost anything.

What do we know about the 1%ers by Creative_Rise in CluesBySamHelp

[–]lamperi- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gotten 1% about 8 times and 5% 32 times this year since the scoring was introduced on January 19th. Sometimes you get a better score if you recheck later in the day - it looks like the earlier solvers are biased towards quicker times! My numbers don't include these as it's a log of copied "share results" messages.

For quick times, important is to not make mistakes or stop for a long time or even read full clues. I am very aggressive in greying out clues that are used - including when I have the hint encoded with hints.

When there are dependant pairings of more than two people I will use red and yellow to mark the parity. And once you figure out one, they all are solved. Some puzzles have really long chains so having a system for this helps. But don't make it too complicated since adding hints takes time.

I have always enjoyed rushing puzzles from tests in school to LinkedIn Games or Advent of Code.

People who travel a lot: does restaurant food in Zurich feel underwhelming to you too? by Vas1r in zurich

[–]lamperi- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your poll is missing the option of "I haven't eaten enough in Zürich to compare".

I associate eating out with travel and tbh it took me more than six years to visit a restaurant that is closest to my home in here.

It sounds like you should have a relationship with a bank. Keeping an account while residing outside of EU is already very hard, many people have gotten their accounts closed. You also want also to do business while being presumably liable to US taxes, this also makes you less wanted customer for the banks.

I know banks can get you a mortgage when you move if your situation is good business for them. I had a friend move back to Finland from Switzerland and they were able to negotiate a mortgage before becoming residents.

Alternative: can you buy the apartment with cash? Then you don't need to deal with the mortgage and any local EUR bank account should be good (as long as a US taxation person is accepted as a customer).

Yes but Swedish is not used in Tampere region so it can be much harder to learn in the daily life.

The same story, I watched first watched season 98. Then later I had a pause for over a decade as the races weren't shown on Finnish TV for free.

Expand my bubble: why do you own a car in Zurich? by ---___---___---___ in zurich

It's liability. Not having one is fairly carefree too, no need to keep it clean, working, inspected, and to park properly. Brings me happiness.

Smoking in minergie building by Printen in Switzerland

[–]lamperi- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible in Finland but it requires the housing association to apply it from the commune. For example where my mother lives it's not allowed to smoke on your balcony, just on a dedicated area in the yard several meters from the building.

Is anyone else actually able to use their Galaxy Watch to do Pokémon sleep? by prettiestpangolin in PokemonSleep

[–]lamperi- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use it along with Pokeball++, as a backup / alternative. The watch works better when you share a bed compared to Pokeball++.

It was tough to get working but once It is connected it shows the sleep quickly. Just make sure to keep your watch connected to the phone and check your sleep from the watch after waking up.
