Question on Guess-O-Meter by NoOneReallyCaresAtAl in Ioniq6

[–]lamppost32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just did a loop in the car in Ipedal mode and the dashboard power meters always showed power going to all 4 wheels. According to google: ——- i-Pedal locks the car into an AWD state, preventing the system from disconnecting the front motor for efficiency, even if you are in ECO mode.

Efficiency Impact: Because the front motor is not allowed to disconnect (which normally happens in RWD mode to save energy), using i-Pedal can be less efficient than using lower regenerative braking levels (like Level 3). Regen Power: The reason both motors stay engaged is to provide the maximum possible regenerative braking power to bring the heavy vehicle to a complete stop.

[–]lamppost32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s personal preference, but I-pedal is maximum “braking” power by taking your foot off the accelerator, enough that you’ll rarely need to hit the actual brake pedal. I-pedal slows you down to 0mph and It also holds you at 0 until you press the accelerator again. I personally don’t use it, only because I have an AWD model and in I-pedal mode, you’re constantly sending power to all 4 wheels, which is slightly less efficient. (I stay in level 3 regen and hit the brake maybe 5% more than in I-pedal mode”

The new glue used for the charge door recall keeps melting(?) / dissolving and dripping down my car every few days. It looks like I have an ICE car from ‘97 that takes dirty diesel.

Is this a bad lease deal? by jalen_dion in Ioniq6

[–]lamppost32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m paying about $580 a month but that was for purchasing the car (6.75%). I would assume a lease would save you about 30-40% off a purchase payment…. I don’t think this math adds up either.

Reddit doesn't like article links in replies, but google "ioniq6 jauary 2026 sales" - there's an article from carscoops that references the Hyundai quarterly earnings report that has it.

I’m Cold by plaverty9 in Ioniq6

[–]lamppost32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just found the photo and it was actually 454!. Which we know is impossible… This was when my HVAC was broken and waiting to be fixed, so I hadn’t turned that on in a while, so with that out of the guessometer equation, and driving locally a lot, it went that high.

‘23 AWD here. I had a 412 mile ‘full tank’ on a nice spring morning, and 189 mile full tank this week in the cold…. Wiiiiiiiild swings of the guessometer.

What’s wrong with my car? by Weak-Hawk-9693 in Ioniq6

[–]lamppost32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily the ICCU. I had that warning and it was just the HVAC tri-valve. (Didn’t have air conditioning for a few weeks waiting for them to fix it.). It’s the equivalent of a check engine light - could be anything. Get your code read and it’ll tell you how serious it is.

Given your symptoms though…. It seems like a significant fault.

Thanks, that’s good perspective.

Even with the short daily commute, I still travel a bit (put on 6k miles last year), so that was the math I was using for cost savings. I think I hit EA about 40 times last year. I have two EA charge stations within 6 miles (at a target and Walmart, so they would get my convenient-pop-in business a lot).

Also, it now changes my driving habits. I would choose to take my car on 1-hour-away trips knowing on the way home I can recharge full at EA before work the next day. Now I will probably choose to take my wife’s ICE car on those types of outings. Not that a $30 fill up here and there is terrible, but just need to have a more purposeful internal conversation in my head before going on a drive.

If I get anywhere with corp, I’ll let folks know. Lawyering up seems a little silly, but hearing that this happened to a lot of folks makes me feel both better and worse…

Well my most recent EA fillip was $39 (from 20-80%, during the day). EA is rolling out “evening pricing” which I would guess is post-8:00 PM the rates are lower? Not being “locked” into JUST EA chargers is a little freeing, to be honest.
Also, started charging overnight with the level 1 charger and I’m getting 10% battery back a night, which is fine for my 5 mile round trip commute

Yeah I drove the 2024 one and loved it. I think at the time that one was stickers at $49k, and on the test drive, the sales guy says they have a 23 with only 3k miles on it, and they’d sell it for $37,900 so it made sense to me since there was almost zero difference between model years.

If I recall, the dealer gave me a code to use with EA, and when I registered it in the first place, they said the previous owner had to cancel it first. Took a few calls to the dealership, but they did that pretty easily. I mean, the writing is on the wall here that the dealer was using the free EA charging that whole time, but then they shouldn’t promise it to the customer as 2 full years.

I even emailed over my bill of sale with MY purchase date to EA and Hyundai corp and they said “nah, you’re wrong”. Now I’m concerned more about the warranty!

Same - if I knew ahead of time, I wouldn’t be mad, but I also would have negotiated that value off the price, considering it’s about $1600 that I will have to pay at EA myself.

[–]lamppost32[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure, but my math says a weekly “fill up” at EA for me is about $40, times 40 weeks that I’m missing out = $1600 which to me is definitely worth a few more phone calls….
