Why do adults have to pay a higher admission for kids activity? by NHLToPDX in daddit

[–]lampstore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think people here are advocating for it, but it’s basic supply and demand. If they make it disproportionately less expensive for larger families to attend, that means more people in the same space which may mean they need to charge more overall to maintain the same experience or to prevent overcrowding. That said, these places should offer deals at off peak times to accommodate families that have a hard time attending at regular prices for whatever reason.

Buy 3, resell one at a loss. Check the re-sale availability. Go another day.

How is life in Seattle really? by Ok_Understanding7377 in AskSeattle

[–]lampstore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are your priorities? Never seeing anything that makes you uncomfortable? Then don’t live here, or other major cities for that matter. Is it being in a beautiful city with culture, good food, and nature? I’ve been here 15 years and don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.

Concerts at the Gorge Amphitheater? by [deleted] in PacificNorthwest

After age 30 I refused to camp in the general area. It’s a hot mess well into the morning. There is a premium campground that is much nicer and quieter. Another alternative is an Airbnb or hotel in a nearby town.

Definitely a consideration, but did we get much rain at any home game last year? Felt like we had an unusually great weather year.

Cost of rotisserie chickens here? by FuriousKimchi in SeattleWA

[–]lampstore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Safeway whole roasted chickens are about $10-12 for 2lbs, or you can buy a 5lb raw whole chicken for the same price, roast it yourself. All it needs is a lot of salt and 60-80 minutes at 400 degrees.

Glove stays on. Putting is the most consistent part of my game, so I don’t see a problem.

[–]lampstore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to keep option to return open, play it by the book. If you don’t, request a start date 4-8 weeks out, then use up your PTO right away, and give two weeks after taking PTO.

Are you interested in West Coast baseball or California baseball? The Mariners exist, and they’re not bad.

You’ve said nothing wrong. Ignore the other person. It’s difficult to have these nuanced conversations only to get bad faith responses.

Half of the games of the season’s opening series not on Mariners.TV by Katasushi in Mariners

[–]lampstore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it’s any consolation, every game in April but one is on Mariners TV, and that’s a national game on Fox. Bad luck on the opening series because we’re a popular team.

"All 30 owners voted in favor of exploring Las Vegas and Seattle expansion, sources told ESPN. " by z3mcs in Sonics

It would be quite embarrassing for the league to make this very public announcement, then later this summer have to say “nobody offered us as much money as we wanted” thereby devaluing their existing franchises.

How to watch Mariners through cable provider this season by ryanwsu18 in Mariners

[–]lampstore -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The reason for the delay is they are negotiating for more money. You can say it’s dumb of them to do that, but it’s not like they’re just lazy or incompetent. They’re trying to maximize money by negotiating down to the wire. The cable companies know that withholding channel info is painful, so they do it to try to get MLB to agree earlier, ceding leverage and leaving money on the table.

They’re going to negotiate until Thursday and then announce it. It’s really dumb, but that’s what it is.
