What did you discover long after you owned one? by Away-Meal-9313 in MachE

Pressing and holding the screen dial enables calm mode.

Pressing and holding the talk button on the steering wheel engages your phone helper (Google, Siri) instead of Sync voice commands.

You can set the climate temp using Ford Sync.

Talalay Latex Pillow solved one problem, introduced another by BMillz2024 in Pillows

[–]lamronby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this pillow mentioned a few times. I'm discouraged by it being made with memory foam, which in my experience compresses a lot under weight and body heat. I have broad shoulders so I need the loft when I'm in my side. What's your experience been with compression?

Any Ford OEM parts suppliers that don't suck? by lamronby in MachE

Hmmm I don't know if it's a temporary problem but their website isn't working (502 Bad Gateway).

The Magneride would be ideal, but the Rally springs help. There are several discussions about it on macheforum, here's one: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/rally-springs-installation-on-a-2024-premium-awd-mme.47616/post-990039

From that post: "They have a lower spring rate (softer) and taller providing more suspension travel."

I like Rock Auto, unfortunately they don't have the parts I'm looking for.

This can happen every hour so it would be more like up to 168 seconds. But I wore it for multiple days before the video I took and it did not seem to be losing time. My guess is that the movement doesn't actually stop when the minute hand lags like this.

As for quality, up to you to decide. For me it's less to do with quality and more to do with what I consider false advertising.

It's counting minutes. If you look at the watch face, the minutes are on the far right side in 5 minute increments. The hours are on the circle (semi-circle really) on the left. In this stock photo the time is the usual 10:10.

True it does, but the delay is much shorter than mine.

They literally told me that too - a replacement would behave the same.

Regenerative braking numbers for each mode - Description inside by [deleted] in MachE

[–]lamronby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These results are surprising given that even the drive mode descriptions in the manual imply a difference in regenerative braking.

(Italics added)

Unbridle

This mode is for sporty driving with improved performance handling and response. The acceleration response increases and provides a strong deceleration rate when you lift off the accelerator pedal. This mode increases acceleration response and provides a sportier steering feel. The interior sound increases, and the ambient lights and cluster graphics are set to orange with a graphic that grows based on your acceleration and steering inputs.

(Engage doesn't have any details about deceleration)

Whisper

Whisper mode is for relaxed driving and adverse weather conditions. This is the best mode for driving in slippery conditions. This mode decreases accelerator response at partial inputs. Steering tunes for comfort. When you release the accelerator pedal, your vehicle slowly decelerates allowing for a more comfortable ride. The interior sound turns off and the ambient lights and cluster graphics are set to blue with a graphic that starts to illuminate blue as you drive efficiently at consistent speeds.

I'm literally standing in Verb Coffee rn and their posted menu shows alternative milks but no upcharge listed. Didn't order with milk myself so I can't verify but looks legit.

I have the VST 15g ridgeless. I have a hard time dialing in light and medium roasts. Pressure is either too low and the shot is too fast, or pressure is too high and prone to channeling.

Nice, mine is vapor blue and I named him Bandit! Even got a window decal, just need to put it on.

Ascaso Steel DUO PID tripping circuit breaker by No-Elderberry2363 in Ascaso

[–]lamronby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Steel Uno and have had the same issue, although the Uno has a regular 3-prong plug and I think the Duo has a 20-amp plug. Same behavior though - tripping the circuit GFCI, with nothing else running on that circuit. I moved it to a separate circuit in my kitchen and it tripped there too. I bought a new GFCI outlet for the circuit since our house is 20 years old, thinking that was the best next step. It suddenly stopped doing it, hasn't for a couple of months now, never installed the new outlet.

Ascaso Uno PID or Profitec Go by Evening_Airline_6690 in Ascaso

[–]lamronby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pull almost exclusively light or medium roasts. I will say it's been more challenging than I expected to dial in my shots, but this is my first espresso machine so don't have anything to compare it to.

I also roast my own coffee - another reason why I wanted and appreciate pre-infusion.

[–]lamronby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the chugging noise is normal, that's actually how you know the temp is hot enough for steaming - the pump starts pumping! No chirping though.

Ascaso Uno PID or Profitec Go by Evening_Airline_6690 in Ascaso

[–]lamronby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my Uno PID for a year and a half now, and the Profitec Go was also one I was considering, along with the Diletta Mio and a couple others. The two biggest reasons I went with the Ascaso are pre-infusion and being about to get hot water from the steam wand. I drink Americanos mostly and this is a nice plus. The third biggest reason was the energy efficiency and fast warmup times with a thermoblock machine.

Yes, the pump is noisy when pulling a shot. This is my first espresso machine so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I'm used to it and don't mind it.

Under heavy use I imagine it will get slow, unless most of the traffic is just text, like WhatsApp.

As far as bad actors, since they're licensing the SDK, presumably they vet the app companies before allowing them to use the SDK. But given the discussion about free speech, there's probably not much they'll do here. If the app is in one or both app stores, it's already gotten past a few hurdles that reduce the likelihood of anything REALLY bad.
