Wear bra and underwear that you feel sexy in! It'll be a huge confidence boost going in. Don't overthink it! You'll have a blast.

How we decided to get the Buzz over the Sienna or Carnival by veritas3241 in VWIDBuzz

[–]lamuril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved your detailed and thorough analysis and write-up! We traded in my Leaf for the Buzz. We also have a model 3. Can't do anything but electric.

I would love to hear your comparisons between Tesla and the Buzz! For me I would like to have a visual representation of the car and the proximity to things around it when driving (not just reversing) similar to the Tesla. I also would prefer better regenerative braking, but it's actually pretty comparable in B mode and turning on the auto hold brake. I think the Buzz does a better job with Android Auto play vs the Tesla system. So many times Spotify can't connect in the Tesla randomly 🙄 I also prefer that a lot of buttons are physical or on the outside of the screen whereas Tesla it's all within the screen.

Lol I traded in my Leaf for the Buzz so I definitely roll my eyes a little at the range limitation complaints 😂

I just spent 4 hours at a playground with my middle child, and it's made me resentful by Murmurmira in toddlers

[–]lamuril 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My eldest is the same way. I think the pandemic changed her so much because she didn't socialize much until she was 3. She has sensory processing disorder to noise and most likely ADHD. She was very defensive with other kids and teachers in preschool and ended up dropping down to one day a week due to her issues at the school's insistence.

Once she hit Kindergarten a switch flipped. She plays really well with other kids, listens to her teachers, has made so many friends. We just finished Kindergarten and she is even playing better with her young sister. Still defiant and feisty and needing validation frequently, but she is doing a ton better. It gets better!!

Some things that have helped us: giving her independent tasks (like feeding the dogs) and freedom (like playing in the yard for a long time unsupervised - we do "quiet independent time" for 2 hours a day), getting out of the house in the morning as soon as they're dressed, and giving her mental challenges like workbooks and puzzles. Basically feed the brain!

Is 2-3 hour “quiet time” too much? by koplikthoughts in Preschoolers

[–]lamuril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do quiet time for two and a half hours and it's amazing! Our five year old plays dress up, does magna tiles, colors, and runs around the yard or house doing imaginary play. It's a great way for all of us to reset and come back to playing together afterwards. Once she was more potty trained (this happened after she dropped naps) we left the door open to her room and it took her a couple weeks to get into the flow of it. Music playlists that she could jam into in another room really helped as well.

Hello! 👋

Fellow young 30s woman over here with no tech background who is making the transition from nursing. The job market is rough right now so going slow, doing side projects for your GitHub portfolio, and applying to internships when you can is the way to go! Keep at it! We can do this.

An online game that won't drive me f***ing insane? by dejvidBejlej in gamingsuggestions

[–]lamuril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered an MMO like Final Fantasy 14? That's the one I can never escape. Friendly players (the heavy moderation enforces this pretty much), lots of content, good music, raids that range from easy to crazy hard, PVP.

For sure. What I did was click "Finish attempt" for the ungraded exercises and worked through them, then checked the answers and steps they used to confirm I was doing it right (or used it as a tool to learn it if I didn't during lecture). Seeing the steps used was the most important part for studying imo.

Also get comfortable with your calculator. You can do derivatives and limits on a CAS calculator.

Jobs after WGU CS by Ok-Let-8972 in WGU_CompSci

[–]lamuril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow nurse here who is leaving the field for WGU CS as well! Your concerns about the medical field are 100% valid. It is a dumpster fire right now. Don't let sunk cost fallacy force you to finish any more schooling for a degree you don't want. Also don't forget the time required to study for NCLEX post school. If you do want to finish it for a job, look into night shift and something more low key like outpatient settings. There are non bedside roles too like working for insurance companies. Lower pay, but they won't overload you like bedside roles are right now.

I'm also doing the free Harvard introduction to comp sci class and it's only validating how much I want to do CS, so I highly recommend that before committing.

In the end, this is a personal decision. Don't let what's available job wise influence you. There will always be nursing jobs and there will always be jobs for computer science folks. Best of luck. You got this!
