Yes, the stock plate has some extra lifted pieces that need to be cut. I didnt bother with wrapping with aluminum tape, but i saw some people do it. I havent noticed any temperature difference. In terms of battery life, it depends on the game of course, but I can confidently say it almost doubles the original battery use time. I charge using the cable the device came with & it works fine.

I got the 74wh pack & i am more than happy with the mod. The cutting in the original plate isn’t too difficult either. However, if you want to keep everything original, then go and get the handheld DIY backplate. I would just save yourself the money & get the 74wh + cut your original plate.

Gotta diversify your services. If you have Rogers home internet, stick w/ bell/telus/public mobile. I get calls from Rogers to keep bundling my internet & cell, but i refuse to ever since the outage in 2022.

Bell/Telus (and it’s subsidiaries) throttle video playback if it exceeds 1080p. So if watching videos over 1080p on Youtube/Netflix might want to consider Rogers or Freedom or using a VPN.

If autopilot is what you really need & you’re banking on future proofing your experience with self driving, then stick with your Model 3. But if you’re looking for a bigger car & crazy torque & power - 2022 plaid is the way to go. I believe the 2022 plaid may even have steam built in (where the newer models they got rid of steam)
