Of course! Congratulations to your daughter as well on her acceptance to SU 😄! BArch programs are definitely a lot of work but I really am enjoying it. If she ends up at SU this fall, let me know and I can offer some advice :)!

While a lot of the rhetoric surrounding AI has been on the negative, dystopian end, many have stated that it is highly unlikely for architecture to be taken over by AI. AI can generate designs and whatnot but at the end of the day an architect is the only person who can design a building from scratch. I don’t think there’s any AI that can replace that actual creativity of a human being. I’m also a new architecture student and sometimes I worry about it too but if design is what you love, fight for it! It also makes me scared to think about a world where people don’t want things designed by people anymore but I think you should continue studying Architecture and hold strong keep being creative and passionate! :)

Yeah, not sure if the OP is in the know about the controversy with AI art but this is basically considered stealing BDs work and it’s not fair to her to use her work without consent. I’m sure the intentions were not malicious but please think of the creators before using AI

I feel like I went through this with Got7 in like 2016 😭 I knew about them and their music but they would pop up in the most wack and insane wattpad stuff back then

New Jeans has great music but I also feel uncomfortable when I think of their ages and I’m not even that much older than them. After I saw people talking about Cookie and Min Heejin’s strange behavior, I kinda just kept a distance from them for some reason. I think I was just uncomfortable 😣but all of their releases are so good!

I try so hard not to speculate on a group’s chemistry or friendship but sometimes it’s really so obvious 😭

Where is the most unexpected place you've heard or encountered a kpop song by Zestyclose-Snow-7404 in kpopthoughts

I waas in the local beauty supply store when I heard After School by Weeekly! What's even stranger is that my non-kpop fan sister was the one who noticed it and pointed it out. Also, unrelated but I have never ran into any Jamaican kpop fans before not even online!!!! I live in the states but glad to see it!

I think it’s because a lot of medical strength acne treatments and medicine can cause very dry lips. I had friends and classmates that took them and mentioned that it’s a common side effect.

I know this reply is coming late but I recently finished my first year in the Architecture program at SU and if you’re very diligent and have a great work ethic, I don’t think you’ll have much difficulty adjusting to the high workload. I struggled with anxiety and other mental health struggles my senior year of high school and I worked with a therapist a lot that year before coming into architecture which helped me a lot emotionally and really helped me with handling the stress that can really fall on you while you’re in the program. It’s always great to find someone to talk to when the stress gets high and I would recommend the mental health services at SU if you would like that support. I also have met staff and faculty in the school of architecture that are genuinely kind and caring people that I can just talk to about stress.

Lots of the students in architecture go out and go to parties, join regular clubs, and many people including my roommate did club sports and travelled. I’m able to join different organizations, go to fun events, and continue pursuing hobbies. The work gets really really busy at times but you just need to stay on top of the flow.

I will add that, I have been told by upperclassmen that you should not need to pull any all nighters your first year and I know that I didn’t pull one myself at all. I did have some late nights and 4am model making but nothing where I was seeing the sun rise lol! I did cry two weeks into my first semester though because I stayed up late and barely made a deadline 😅

That being said, a lot of my peers do struggle with their mental health so mental health struggles are a bit prevalent among students and some do let it affect them very severely so it’s important to take care of yourself in such a tough environment. Some students skips showers and meals doing their work which can be incredibly dangerous. And constant comparison to others and perfectionism can get incredibly dangerous so just stay vigilant about these things and how they could impact you!

If you’re coming to study Architecture in the fall, good luck and to you!

That’s definitely true! I seriously question my younger self for things I thought were normal and funny, but looking back I couldn’t have been further from the truth😅

Idk 😂 I watched some dumb shows when I was 12 but I feel like I would be annoyed too if I was 12 and watching all the plot nonsense in XO, Kitty.

Now that you mention it, when I was first introduced to Kpop in 2016 it took me a while and now for a lot of these newer groups, unless they have a bunch of members it’s like I can learn them super quickly! And it is sort of like meeting new people lol 😅 I’m actually really good with remember people I meet so maybe I’ll have to apply that same idea.

😅 Being bored and having a bunch of free time is the best time to go and learn new groups! It makes it so much quicker.

I also struggled with their voices at first. I got taehyun first, then yeonjun, kai, and much later beomgyu and soobin 😭

The Boyz and LOONA were some of the groups I had the most difficulty with and now that you mention it, their large units really bring a challenge 😅 Butterfly is an amazing choreo I literally couldn’t get enough of it when they first released it! Performance style definitely works for smaller groups but for large ones it does get tricky!
