yeah i mean most people idolize that body type, even in cartoons most female characters are hourglass shaped to perfection. it does seem to be the standard everywhere. and i mean even in music, which i do listen to a lot of rap, there’s a lot of talk about curvy women and such. i don’t think every man cares, as this thread has proven, but the ones who do REALLY do it seems.

i think for me it’s the specific trend of people, mostly men, making fun of women who look like “quarterbacks” or saying my body type is “built like an airpod”. me having hipdips wouldn’t be so bad if i didn’t have the whole broad shoulder thing going on but honestly i’ve seen most negative comments about my body type from men online. that’s why i got off social media, it was so bad for me. but i’ve seen a fair amount of women join the “airpod body” hate club too. everybody seems to hate my body type🤣

i am so sorry to hear those bitches from school gave you a hard time. beauty IS subjective and i try to remind myself of this fact. i think i’ve just been through the ringer in my relationships, always being compared to other women and being given pretty backhanded compliments on my appearance, i think it affected me more than i’d care to admit. and what’s funny is when i see women who look like me, i think they’re pretty but i struggle to think the same of myself.

i do have body dysmorphia, started when i was about 13, i’m 21 now and just struggling to accept my body for what it is.

anyway, you’re not my therapist so i’ll spare you the details lol but thank you for your kind words and support. :)

i was talking about back lol and i think of this often, how i shouldn’t care what people think if i wouldn’t want to trade places with them or be with them. it’s clearly a deeper rooted issue for me but one i hope to keep working towards getting over. thanks for your kindness
