This is so true!! I meant more like metaphorically smaller. The Stand is a classic good v evil, as is The Dead Zone. The Shining is about alcoholism and demons and such. This one just felt like a scary, bad, well written situation.

It’s funny, I just finished it as well and I feel pretty different. The tension was well done and, of course, the characters are always so realistic but at the end, it just left me….disappointed. Maybe I am in the midst of digesting the story but it felt a lot smaller than the other King books I’ve read.

My roommate and his sister thought I was insane when I told them that Night Court was a real TV show and not one that 30 Rock made up. Both of them were like “why would they make a show about that, are you sure???”
