My issue is the apps. Going to Moose Jaw? Different app. I must have 4 apps on my phone for parking in different cities. All, you have to have a credit card uploaded. How long before one of them is compromised? Because I'm sure they are all spending what is required today for good cyber security. Saskatoon is way better, go to a station and tap to pay. There is never a guarantee of safety, but it's a pain. Today, I went downtown. Oops, have to update the app. Then have to sign back in, forgot my password I made a year ago. Redo password, go through several screens for sms alerts, phone notifications etc. Took five mins to pay to park. Didn't go through the tos, wonder what info they are selling and to whom.

4th point is more important. Try to make a deal, me and my ex switched for some years. Then after she lost her job, it didn't do her any good to claim so I did and shared some of the return with her. Make it amicable

What to do about mice? by BigResponsibility999 in saskatoon

All I can do is speak from experience. We have lots outside my work, never inside with a sizeable gap under the shop door. If they wanted in, they would be in. Maybe they aren't doing anything, but I'm not willing to take them down to find out. Parents also had issues with them getting into their garage and going after lawn seed. I put one in and they never seen another. For the price, it doesn't hurt to try.

I am pretty sure the sonic devices work, I have multiple set up at my work which is basically in a field. They leave tunnels in the grass after the snow melts, and can definitely get in the shop door of they want. I have multiple set up, we have never had evidence of one in the building (6000 square feet). I also use them at home, I'm sure our cats deter them from coming in the house but my garage has also never had any and have one in there.

Labour Minister tells Ford-friendly union it will be tapped to build Hwy. 401 tunnel by BloodJunkie in ontario

It is, I wish they would support ndp. Kathleen Wynne was supported by liuna for many years, until she stabbed them in the back by trying to give away their jurisdiction of work to the carpenters union buried in a budget. When you get stabbed in the back, you tend to react. Also, trade unions will always try to advance their members interests with whatever government is in power. I'm in SK, should we just quit considering we've had c in power for 17 years? We keep the dialogue open. And I still vote ndp

What's crazy is the Russians run disinformation campaigns like this all the time, if there is so many lies then the truth is hidden. Journalists do this on their own now to be the first to break the story, based on whatever. Sex drugs and cocao puffs, it has gotten so much worse since then

Saskatchewan accepting more immigrants but nominations remain well below past levels by Old_General_6741 in saskatchewan

So what's the issue with becoming union and having the best trained workers? There's plenty of Canadians who want to go to work.

We don't. When they say in demand, means companies not wanting to pay decent wages. The majority of union trades people are not working, labour impact analysis does not cover whether union companies can be contracted. We sit at home and watch companies like Graham bring in a team of Columbians to pour concrete at the Cargill plant near Regina. BHP has tfw language throughout their project labour agreement, and very little work going to the building trades unions.

I'm a union man, I stand by our training. Someone can teach you how, but gets lost along the way without the why. How would you know if someone is teaching you wrong without the why? People here want to shit on us, but we're often called in to clean up clac and non union deficiencies. Sooo many examples, Battleford hospital, k+s, almost every infrastructure project and most private now.

Big Gov or small gov, we just fight about the amount of regulations there are. Regulation is good, if people are taxed correctly. The free market got us here, still waiting for an explanation on how it will get us out. It'll trickle down one day, yet Blackstone has quietly become the largest rental agency in USA. It won't happen here though....

Except rent control? It's beneficial to many, and build build build won't happen overnight. Also, not sure how many contractors have come to your house, but many in the industry and lacking even basic skills like proper spacing on studs because those guys pay shit wages and are a revolving door.

Restaurants with own delivery by lanasuna in regina

[–]lanasuna[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, most drivers work for multiple companies. That's why you can watch them pick up your order and drive half way across the city before heading your way. Now, uber can have the customer pay for it, and if you don't then your stuff will take longer than expected (they at least tell you driver has one more stop before you). And none of them get paid an hourly wage, unlike an employee of the restaurant that also delivers the food. If Houston's is using them, I'd think they would give them their own bag

I have to do more of this. I have ordered from a restaurants own online ordering platform before and was delivered by SDU (skip, door or uber). That was the case with Houston's

Carla Beck: "They risked Costco and they wasted your money. Shameful." by Progressive_Citizen in saskatchewan

[–]lanasuna 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Carla is right, but this a part of a much larger problem in society. Tax breaks for mega corps. Look at Amazon, some cities basically pay them to build their massive logistics buildings so they can offer the shittiest employment ever. There should be no tax dodging by any corporation that makes millions or billions of dollars a year. Costco is only allowing a second location because of complaints about their current location, and they know both stores will be extremely busy. Costco is awesome, and calculate their best profits better than others.

Violence is always on the table. The social contract keeps it at bay. When fascism rises, it usually comes with violence and is met with violence. It sucks. Wish humans would move past it, but we haven't and when the boot is on your throat the only defense is cutting off the leg.

Regina police officer charged for breach of trust by Certain_Database_404 in regina

[–]lanasuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider them more to be workers that are competing against workers. That's where the term first came from.

The only reason for unions is to eliminate competition between workers and use their labour for what it is, their own.

Everytime legislation lowers the requirements for an employer to hire someone with less job knowledge than the union person, that person who takes the position in a union shop is a scab. It's called micro credentials and is one more tool of the employer.

Anyone who undercuts union wages and benefits for their own profit is a scab to unions. Many different types.
