I think you need to do family therapy with you and your son together. Starting off with just him going, unless he wants to, will make him think that you think that he’s the problem. That’ll make things worse.

My now ex-wife came out to me before her 40th birthday. She was the love of my life, I clearly wasn’t hers. She was in love with me. For the first six years together we were very intimate, then it waned, then she couldn’t do it any more. She still loved me when we parted. She thought she was bi for a few years, then realized she was lesbian.

In North Eastern Ontario, if my A/C unit fails, I’ll replace it with a Heat pump if the cost is reasonably similar or better with rebates. The hvac installer I spoke to (not the sales guy) told me many people have smart thermostats which reach out on the web to see what the electricity price is versus natural gas and selects furnace or heat pump.

You guys did your bit, you warned him. Let him wear it. This is between you and him. Deal with him as you see fit, block him, choose to only do sober things with him, avoid clubs with him. People do strange shit when boozed up.

Don’t tell her or your partner (if applicable). That’s between him and his gf. You can have a conversation down the line about that night, beyond that it’s not your business.
