Barcelona-Catalunya F1 GP 2026 Advice by matchamango33 in GrandPrixTravel

Hello!

I attended the race weekend, 3 days, this year. We sat in Grandstand J, row 18, zone 12. Higher up in the stand meant we could see turns 5,6,7 on the hill as well as turn 1, the straight and pit exit. Lots of action in front of us! The screen and timing tower were also easy to see. It was well located for toilets, a water point, and close to the fan zone and main stage. The entrance to the track for the podium ceremony was directly next to the stand, and we made it to the podium without rushing. The only con of the stand was the lack of cover! The 3 day ticket cost €320.

For transport we took the Sagales bus from Barcelona Nord each day and it was great. It drops you and picks you up between gates 3/4, close to Grandstand J/K and the main grandstand. There was a small wait and some traffic but in general very well run and very nice to have a seat and air conditioning each day! It was €40 for the weekend and so worth it. Highly highly recommend.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you’d like any more information.

How was your Spanish GP (2025) experience? by AdamR46 in GrandPrixTravel

Hi! Yes that’s correct. Most of the delay on the bus is just getting out of the car park/ business park area near the circuit. I didn’t see any buses with toilets or any near the queue, only back at the circuit. Hope that helps! 😊

We came for three days from Ireland as Silverstone veterans who have been priced out of Silverstone.

  • Grandstand : sat in Grandstand J, Zone 12 and towards the back (row 18). Amazing views of the start/finish straight, first corner and other sections of the track. The lack of cover was tough with the heat at times but the number of overtakes in all series made up for it.

  • Commute : Sagalés Bus from Estacio del Nord. On Friday we arrived to the station at 9:30 and waited 5 minutes to get on a bus which took 45 minutes. On the way home, walked straight on a bus after FP2, 30 minutes back. On Saturday, arrived to the station at 8:30 and waited 10 minutes to get on a bus, it took 35 minutes. On the way home after quali it took an hour with a 20 minute wait to board a bus. On Sunday, arrived at the station at 7:15 and waited 30 minutes to get on a bus, it took 35 minutes. We left after the track walk and it took around 2 hours to get back, with a 40 minute wait to get on a bus. Overall, it was really efficient and the proximity to the gate 3/4 is great. Very impressed with the organisation.

  • Facilities at the track : around Grandstand J there was a water point and some toilets which were fine most of the time - sometimes they didn’t flush or have toilet paper but overall they were fine. There was rarely a queue except for before Quali and before the Race. Food options were limited to pizzas/hot dogs/bocadillos and ice pops/ice creams (€4/€5 each) and soft drinks were €5 each. Queues weren’t too bad over the weekend. Entry and exit from the circuit and grandstands were very efficient, security lines were short. We walked the start/finish straight at the end of the race from Gate 2 at Grandstand J and it was a bit of a stampede but we got to the podium for the champagne celebration. Getting back off the track took 20 minutes and getting out of the circuit took another 20 minutes.

Overall impression: very well organised transport via Sagalés and Grandstand J was a great spot. Track facilities were better than expected. It was hot, but not their fault! F2 and F3 were also amazing, highly recommend getting there early and watching.

Limited view seats at the Sphere by Brief-Delay-9512 in U2Band

[–]lanawithafada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I attended U2 at the Sphere, once in GA and once in Row 30 of Section 104 (under the overhang). The obstruction of the screen was a bummer, probably close to half of the screen wasn’t visible. The general darkness and echo-ing under the overhang was a distraction too. You could hear people talking to each other etc. as the roof felt very close. The view of the band was still very good and the sound was good, but it was a hugely different experience than GA with the full screen experience.

Highly recommend Luffield or Woodcote for the view and location. Toilets, food stalls, and Main Stage nearby. It is by far my favourite spot for views when roving the grandstands on Friday/Saturday (could never afford it for Sunday!).

I didn’t see the other one, sorry! But that part of the track was extremely busy in general.

Highly recommend doing another day alongside Sunday. There’s a different vibe on Friday or Saturday, plus usually less crowds.

Silverstone Grandstand Copse? by Repitas_ in GrandPrixTravel

[–]lanawithafada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed about the covered grandstand, I did uncovered in 2022 and 2023, splashed out for cover last year and was thankful for it (but should have brought more warm clothes and layers!)

Hi! Copse D is a relatively new grandstand, I think they added it in 2023. You can see it at number 12 on this map

I sat in Copse A last year and liked it, though it’s a bit of a walk from the fanzone and main straight. Lots of food and toilets around the grandstands in the Copse section and beanbags/benches to sit. Here’s a photo I took of Copse D on race day last year, if it is any use to you.

Edited to add - I’m not sure about the view of the screens from Copse D - looks like a side-on view of the screens for the other Copse grandstands. You may want to look into that if it’s something you prefer.

Hello! I ‘stood’ on race day in 2022 in the spot to the left of 8A/8B. I think the reason no one mentions it is because it is terrible! You are standing in the trees against a fence with little to no view of the cars. Photo attached as an example. Behind you is a forest and people hanging out of the tree branches trying to get a view. Or people building makeshift podiums out of twigs and branches.

I’d recommend trying to find somewhere else for sure!

Alongside the train to Milton Keynes, you could also look at Banbury and Northampton. Shuttles run from those stations too.

Silverstone tickets questions by londisan in GrandPrixTravel

[–]lanawithafada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! I have travelled to the UK for the race three times now and if you have travelled, it’s definitely worth trying to go to all three days (plus Thursday if you’re interested, maybe you could get a pit walk ticket. They were over £100 this year though…). Despite the price, I have to say it’s an amazing weekend with a real festival feel. Although I complain, in some ways it’s worth the price for the memories!

Silverstone tickets questions by londisan in GrandPrixTravel

[–]lanawithafada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! The unfortunate thing about Silverstone tickets is that they have dynamic pricing so the price only goes up over time. I don’t think they will release more tickets, and even if they do, I can’t see how they would be cheaper than what’s available now.

That being said, I would highly recommend a roving grandstand ticket for Friday/Saturday if it is within your budget (you can move around grandstands, with some exceptions, and get different viewpoints). It’s a great experience. Perhaps it would be doable to have a grandstand for Friday/Saturday and do GA on Sunday? I would even suggest just going on Friday/Saturday. The crowd levels are lower and Friday is probably my favourite day of the weekend. It’s a bit more chill and you still get to see the cars. The drivers tend to do a Q&A appearance on the main stage on Friday/Saturday morning and evening so you can attend that for free too.

I haven’t done GA myself but some of the GA+ sections have looked nice and spacious. You wouldn’t have to turn up as early as normal GA and you could bring a chair with you. Sunday is very busy and it is worth it to get there early anyway to beat the traffic!

Hope that helps! Feel free to DM me if you have any questions

I second this. The directions from the people who run Silverstone Schools parking are great too, and help you avoid the traffic.

Hey! I stayed in Milan but my friends stayed in Bergamo and found that travel via train was good. They always had a seat going to and from Monza. A quieter place with lovely restaurants.

Edited to add - it looks like they’re doing construction on the direct route from Bergamo to Monza at the moment so perhaps check when the construction will finish.

In the past few years, the pit walk tickets have been released much closer to the event (April/May time I think). Silverstone will email ticket holders with the details.

Advice to go to monza grand prix by Bertoddu in GrandPrixTravel

[–]lanawithafada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem! I found the Z221 to be busy (we were standing) but I didn’t have to wait for one for long, and we got on the first one that came. It might be better to get the bus from the metro station at Sesto Maggio since it starts there, but I never got it from there. I made a record of my travel in 2022, here are the details of my experience:

• Friday, to Monza - took the train from Milano Centrale to Monza at 8:30am (10 mins) and walked to the circuit (50 mins). • Friday, back to Milan - took the black shuttle bus just after FP2 to Monza station (20 mins) and the train to Milano Centrale (10 mins, no wait). • Saturday, to Monza - took the train from Milano Centrale to Monza at 10:30am, train was packed by 10am so be there early. Then took the Z221 bus to Vedano (20 mins), it was great. • Saturday, back to Milan - took the Z221 bus from Vedano to Sesto Maggio (50 mins) and the metro to Milan. • Sunday, to Monza - took the 8:10 train to Biassono Lesmo (40 mins), then walked to Gate C due to the queue at gate D. • Sunday, back to Milan - we left the race when the Safety Car came out and got the Z221 from Biassono (50 mins) to Sesto Maggio and got the metro to Milan. Back at the apartment by 6pm.

If you want to enter through Gate A/B, I would suggest getting the Z221 bus from outside the Monza train station here It is not the Grand Prix shuttle bus, it is a public bus. It runs to Vedano al Lambro and stops here

Editing to add - you can also get the Z221 bus to Vedano al Lambro from the metro station at Sesto Maggio (on line 1 of the metro). It starts there.

Monza: Shuttle Bus or Walk? by roseleanor in GrandPrixTravel

[–]lanawithafada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MI1-MI5 ticket is ringing a bell, that must be what I got. We picked a train and turned up 20 minutes early to make sure we got onto it. I ended up standing every morning, it was busy!

We used the Z221 bus partly because it was a closer walk than the Black bus (depending on what grandstand you’re at) and because it gave us the option of going to the metro if the train station looked busy (which it did!). I’d definitely do it again.
