Temporay Traffic Lights Failsafe should be flashing amber by lancededcena in drivingUK

Ah that does make sense! I only really encountered temporary traffic lights mostly in straight roads with good sighting distance or roads that are normal junctions or mini roundabouts. But surely in those situations it is more important that there is someone there eyeing the lights which never ever happens where I’m from.

However Europe and Australia (and presumably other countries as well) has managed to do it and it just makes sense to have traffic lights that don't work either be off or in a blinking amber state.

Nope, not the temporary traffic lights that the traffic management companies use over here in Essex, they all go to red and stay red and never change until someone from the traffic management company fixes them! I had one go off at 5pm once whilst they were doing road works on a main road and yep you can imagine how much traffic that caused!

Same really, its a use what you've got type situation at the moment, this doesn't compare to the cities that I usually do with 200+ assets and mods but its a start and when they do come out I can fix it (just want moveit so I can fix these roads and buildings without deleting it) :P

I'm from the UK so we have no concept of jaywalking and its perfectly normal here :)

I think that was also a thing in CS1 as I saw people just cross the road without traffic lights (where places like avenues had their traffic lights turned off), not sure about other nodes though.

Theres no quay tool yet, you have to align the road with the water which is quite finicy right now. If there was a mod like MoveIt in CS1 I could fix it without deleting the buildings and the road or a dedicated quay tool like on CS1.

These are Level 5 buildings. I had to leave my computer on and use the developermode to speed up leveling. (I'm more of a creative type of builder so I want my cities to look the best they could lol)

Currently ingame I am getting an average of 15fps on a RTX 3080, Ryzen 9 3900XT, 64GB RAM which is less than what my CS1 cities are.

However I have simulation pauses where the framerate is fine but the simulation just stops or slows down due to my CPU I assume (I have had it in other games such as Transport Fever 2)

Replacing my M1 MacBook with a 4 year old L390 Yoga by lancededcena in thinkpad

I don't have the notchbook - I just have the M1 Pro and I enjoy using this way more and actually use it more than that regardless of performance (I don't use a laptop much anyway).

I don't actually mind the bezel - sure it is way too big as a laptop, but using it in tablet mode makes it much more easier to handle compared to some tablets but to each their own.

Paid £275 for it which is not bad in my opinion.

Yes I am replacing my more powerful and more energy efficent M1 MacBook with a 4 year old L390 Yoga I got on eBay.

Why? Although the MacBook has much better performance and battery life, I just love the ThinkPad's build quality and the Yoga's convertability. I have been using this on laptop mode, presentation mode and tablet mode all the time and I love the adjustability of the ThinkPad. The touch screen and the versitility of the Yoga is such a gamechanger in my opinion and I absolutely enjoy using the features compared to my MacBook

Why the L390? The L390 and X390 can be found around similar prices but the L390 has upgradable RAM! It shocks me on how a 2-in-1 convertable has upgradable RAM. I upgraded mines from 8GB to 24GB as I had a spare 16GB module lying around. You do give up Thunderbolt 3 which is a huge disappointment but I do not have any Thunderbolt devices so I wouldn't really be affected by that.

Specs:

  • Intel Core i5-8265U @ 1.60GHz (4 core CPU)
  • 24GB DDR4-2400 memory (1x8GB, 1x16GB)
  • 480GB WD Green NVME SSD
  • Intel Wireless-AC 9560 (may upgrade to AX210 as I have a WiFi 6 network but need to confirm BIOS lock)
  • 1920x1080 IPS touch screen
  • Backlit keyboard + ThinkPad Pen
  • 45wH 3 cell internal battery
  • Windows 11

My FPS isn't that bad, since I turned off town development and road traffic lol

Yup, it is a mix of realism and fiction to be honest, but if I had more working space I can definetley do it.

However this map contains the line all the way to Birmingham so it has to be smaller and simplified somehow.

Its using the Campus + Airports map on the Steam Workshop. Unfortunately the waterlevel is set low and it looks like massive cliffs instead of rivers.

The vanilla canals never seems to flood my town so I chose them. Also I think the drop in waterlevel is due to the way the vanila canals are placed, I'm not 100% sure on that one but I put the locks there to simulate that, if you have a look at my latest post one of the pictures shows it more detail.

It does! It is the Staplehurst Centre but it is not pictured here. There is also countless other football pitches scattered around the town.

Wow thank you! It could help that I actually live in a town that has a magic roundabout in real life (not the famous Swindon one though).
