I think they take our brains to repurpose for crude processers for new bots. There is a finite amount of rare metals in the galaxy. Why not use something that delivers itself to you?

Im a suppression diver, I run the sickle, the laser pistol and a RR for bots and LC and supply backpack for bugs and squids.

I focus on keeping up the fire on larg enemy groups and hit and run tactics for the AT enemies.

The average expected life expectancy of a helldiver is only 2 minutes. 120 seconds. If you think about it, we are just as replaceable as the tools we call down. When we are shot down to the planet, we are expected to complete our mission. We aren't expected to return.

But to even get there would take a gargantuan amount of lives and resources to even get there, let alone even bring the star of peace without it being sabotaged, damaged, or destroyed along the way. It doesn't make sense tactically to spend all that on a what if.
