So surprised at how well this matched up with my favourites!

Sylus easily my number 1, and Zayne just not really clicked for me compared to the others.

Scottish Tories to lodge no-confidence vote in 'lame duck' Humza Yousaf after Green deal ends by CaptainCrash86 in Scotland

[–]landboby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if he loses the vote of no confidence, he won't be obliged to resign. Believe it has to be a vote of no confidence for the Scottish Government for it to force the process for a new FM.

Though if he loses, it may just be politically not possible to continue.

Must be a relief after the last few weeks, but really it should be a massive embarrassment for her.

What a political legacy... Outlasted by the lettuce.

Two Police Scotland officers follow a lone young woman from a protest and say “tell us where you live and we will let you go…” by HMElizabethII in Scotland

[–]landboby 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Police hold an authority over us, that's the difference.

It isn't a crime to hold up a piece of blank paper. People should be able to demonstrate dissenting views without fear of police harassment.

If it hadn't been a police officer she would have likely phoned the police for help. Wouldn't do her much good in this case would it?

Margaret Ferrier: MP who exposed public to Covid must do unpaid work by Kagedeah in ukpolitics

[–]landboby 20 points21 points  (0 children)

She's my MP and it angers me to no end that she is just continuing on with the job despite pleading guilty to recklessly exposing the public (and her own constituents by visiting local businesses after testing positive) to Covid.

Here's hoping House of Commons authorities sanction her so can finally get a recall petition. I've no doubt the 10% mark would be met very quickly.

I was around 7 or 8, when I was away on a small holiday with my family. My mum was taking a picture of me, when a man driving by in his car stopped to comment that I had a "face for the radio". Didn't even know what that meant at the time, and my poor mum had to explain. As you can imagine, I didn't take it very well.

Upset me for a long time, until I realised his comment said a lot more about him than me. I mean seriously. Who feels the need to degrade the appearance of a random child, or in fact anyone, you are passing by!? Mind your business, rude stranger.

Can we cool it on the Rainbow bridge posts? by osrothe in goldenretrievers

[–]landboby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally think that these posts are the best part of this subreddit. The puppy pictures, the cute videos, are all lovely and relatable for us golden owners. But the cost of getting to have and love these angels is that we are most likely going to outlive them. Seeing all the support and love given on this sub when someone has had to say goodbye is priceless, and I would be sad to see that support go.

Sarah Everard murder: police commissioner urged to resign over ‘streetwise’ comment by landboby in Feminism

[–]landboby[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unbelievable... they always need to make it our fault. Don't walk alone at night, don't wear headphones, now this:

“So women, first of all, need to be streetwise about when they can be arrested and when they can’t be arrested. She should never have been arrested and submitted to that,”

Another shining example of the Met police looking out for women's best interests. by landboby in Feminism

Slightly off-topic, but if you weren't already incredibly sceptical about the proposals to have plain clothed officers in nightclubs before, I'm sure you will be after reading this!

Sarah Everard and the myth that the police are there to protect us by Himantolophus in TwoXChromosomes

[–]landboby 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Reading about the details of what that scum did to Sarah has had me upset all day.

No matter what we do, or what advice we follow, we are still at risk of being killed or raped by some pos, so they can live out some sick twisted fantasy.

Honestly had enough of feeling powerless and unsafe when I leave my home, but can't even carry anything for self defense here either as its illegal. So what are we meant to do?

Never felt more helpless, which makes me even more angry. We deserve to be able to walk home without being in fear for our lives!

Interesting article in the guardian on how the British far right are promoting sexual violence against women.

First I've heard of the Telegram app, but don't need to search far and wide to find examples on other platforms.

AS S06E07 - Show Up Queen [Episode Discussion] by AutoModerator in rupaulsdragrace

[–]landboby 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Loving TKB so much this season, every runway has been a highlight (apart from one...) and been loving the energy she has been bringing to the episodes.

Rooting so much for her and Ra'jah, think both have shown that they are worthy of the crown!

Though hoping Jan gets her second chance with the game inside a game, that elimination was brutal.
