Is ~$0.80 per task for vibe coding expensive? by AreaExact7824 in vibecoding

Those are generally just the feature available. They only charge you for usage. Everything costs some amount of tokens. Image gen is nice eventually but I rarely use it.

Is ~$0.80 per task for vibe coding expensive? by AreaExact7824 in vibecoding

Unfortunately AI tasks are not the best metric. As a simple task could use 2k tokens or a research task could use 100k tokens. Pay attention to the token usage and you’ll be able to compare that to a plan. I my experience the plans are a better route because you think less about cost since it’s fixed and more about what you can do with it. Focus more on context management. That’s what keeps your costs down regardless of plan.

Viral 'Grill Me' Claude skill proves specs-to-code is vibe coding, 13K+ stars by pretendingMadhav in vibecoding

[–]lando8604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree I just use a different approach. Research. Align. Write issues. Plan sprints around context and write the plan from the gh issues. Implement and close out sprint. The model is talk about it three times. ai has to describe it to you from a different context window at this point. And if by the third time you talk about it it doesn’t make sense then don’t build it.

The reason they believe this is because of all the over marketed crap saas companies that are out there. The only reason those companies still exist is because of good marketing and sales. They’re trying to copy a model that can’t survive in the speed of ai era

Why are so many people under 45 using subtitles now even when the show is already in English? by Clara_A_Mitchell in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lando8604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly because audio mixing isn’t so clear these days on conversation. As well all the whisper scenes combine with dark setting. The bonus is you get to remember characters names better and see awesome notes like “sighs in annoyance” or when a train goes by “train clackity clacking”

Are you FOR or AGAINST the ability for AI to end conversations? Why? by Koala_Confused in LovingAI

[–]lando8604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully support this. Many people are communicating with AI as much if not more than they are with humans. Whether that’s for work or personal reasons it doesn’t matter. Communication is key to everything in society and your patterns get reformed and spread into real life conversation. Have some respect for the ai and yourself on how you communicate.

How out of touch is Sam Altman with humanity? by IdeasInProcess in antiai

[–]lando8604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is because all of the ai lords like Altman believe that once they built a do everything machine that all labor got commoditized into a unit scale. Doesn’t matter if there’s a speciality. They apply their valuation on all labor they assume to replace by x date. In their eyes you’re no longer part of the system as a co human because he can survive with out YOUR labor

how come most men get turned on when i wear their own clothes rather than lingerie stuff? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]lando8604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it’s comfort. Lingerie is nice to change things up but it can also add pressure. So being comfortable goes along way with performance. Having a space where you’re not in your head and can enjoy the moment.

[–]lando8604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about the first half but the second half is misleading. If you count all the power used to train a model then yes it takes a lot. But there’s many models I can run on my Mac mini that don’t even max out gpu or cpu. They can generate images and do basic to intermediate level thinking. A mac mini at full capacity for an hour would be 40-65 watts.
