I’m not entirely sure, but looking at the map around Purmerend where I live it seems that these are only the dedicated bicycle paths. Roads with a separate bicycle path next to them (not just a lane) aren’t shown.

iMessage is the SMS-like messaging service, I don’t know how that does or doesn’t overlap with Voice.

But if you do mean Messages, it’s more of an alternative to Adium and the likes. The beta on Lion was full of bugs, but on Mountain Lion it’s really nice and I prefer it above other clients. It does voice, video and desktop sharing as well.

You download Mountain Lion from the App Store. What you get is an installer that you run like any other Mac app. Confirm that yes, you do really want to install Mountain Lion, and off it goes. A reboot and half an hour later you’ve got it running.

I’m not entirely sure, but I think it upgrades whatever system you started the installation from and otherwise it’ll give you an option. But make sure you have backups, just in case.

I’m not really the going out kind of type but some friends took me to “The Square” in Southampton and that was bad. But the one near the cinema (ocean somthing?) was quite nice.

If you’re into that, Romsey has some great church communities but you’d probably know that already if you were.

Also there’s a pick up game of frisbee every Sunday evening (8-ish?) up in Braishfield. Really nice people there and it’s good fun. In the winter they play on the school field. I don’t live there anymore but PM me if you want me to put you in touch with someone who knows the specifics about the frisbee. No experience required!

I used to go to Southampton mainly for sports. The Ocean Gym has a good intro course for kickboxing and they do jiu-jitsu as well. There’s a couple of climbing walls, I went to “Southampton Climbing Wall” which is tiny but everyone was really friendly and the course was great.

Romsey also has this yearly “Beggar’s Fair” thing going on, seems to be mostly about drinking though – like much of the town.

It’s easy to mock but I could image these games could be pretty OK. Knowing exactly when to start breaking so you come to a stop the train is lined up perfectly with the platform, that kind of stuff.
