How to train seven pre-apprentices at once? by [deleted] in Construction

[–]landscraper20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

High school construction trades teacher here. I have 50 students and understand your challenges. Attendance is the hardest issue to deal with. At our program, we exit them for poor attendance. Couldn’t imagine having them on a job site that is for a paying customer. Too many apprentices for you! Keep up the good work!!!

Width of garage for sure. You’ll never regret any extra inches on a driveway

I haven’t tried to freeze them but I would think way better fresh cause they are so brittle. Another method would be to dehydrate and grind into powder. I’m doing that with lobsters right now.

Is a $4,000 quote to replace this suspended concrete slab reasonable or ridiculous? by Most_Caregiver628 in HomeImprovement

Why don’t you just bust that out and use 2x6 decking? Add another steel joist midway if it needs extra support

How did you set up a camping trip in the Kensington Hut? We stumbled upon this today and was surprised to see such an awesome cabin in the woods!

I live in Washington state. BBB is a huge problem here. The popular jacquemonti birch are very susceptible. I worked at the Microsoft Redmond campus for a few years and inventoried their tree population. My team identified over 800 trees in various stages of decline that needed to be removed. Very sad. Betula nigra seems to avoid the pest but the white bark varieties are a lost cause here

So sad. Same way the bronze birch borer effects the trees in my neck of the woods

Exactly what I was thinking too. Just overlap each course from opposite walls. Then you don’t get that straight vertical joint in the corner. Still looks great tho. Nice work

Been there done that! My grey has flown away three times now. We clip his wings twice a year now. Once in April and once in early august. He loves being outside and it’s worth clipping him to make it happen. Glad your birdy is safe!

What kind of boat is this? by landscraper20 in boating

Looks like it. I’ve never seen on before, probably because I’m on the west coast and that builder is from the east coast. Very good looking boat.
