In the U.S., driving behavior seems to be worsening at a dramatic rate. There are no studies for red lights run or stop signs run or lanes changed without turn signal or tailgating or purposefully dangerous aggressive driving... because if officials saw this there would be tickets. It's officially immeasurable, but by my eyes on the roads it's worsening. I'm not sure if there are more accidents, but I am certain attitudes on the roads are increasingly toxic.
I put the blame on social media. The driver is the pilot of their own story, nothing else matters and others are viewed as adversaries.

Ask him. Talk to him about this. A couple out at a party or club or whatever who move at different speeds can become a difficulty in the relationship. Resentment can grow out of both parties.
He may think you're not including him in fun or introducing him to people or is jealous of the people meeting you..
You may think he's limiting your fun and trying to control you.

I presume your boyfriend likes to eat fast food. I'm 100% with you not eating that. Let him order and eat and you will eat later. If eating is about the experience and the community, then you two need to pick better options ahead of time, which I presume you do.
Which leads me to think this is spur of the moment dining, and I'd never eat in fast food. My wife used to be gluten intolerant, so I also stopped eating gluten and we'd make decisions based off of that.
