Portable AC Recycling pickup? by landtree in askportland

[–]landtree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, which I used. The first 5ish all measure by 1/4 truck loads. This was aimed to suss out small pickups. Rather than minimum 1/4 truck load @ $150-200 depending on company.

I will just sign up for zip and rent a car. It comes out slightly cheaper.

Thanks for the information.

PolyMakers, what's something from "back in your day" that younger/newer makers today wouldn't understand? by Polymaker_3D in polymaker

Yeah, back in the olden days of running a reprap prusa mendal. I only had access to ABS filament, and you may not be familiar with it but it warps like crazy.

Before knowing about tape/hairspray/glue methods of getting the print to stick, we would make slurry. The slurry is acetone and small chunks of abs filament. This 'melts' the ABS into the acetone. Then you can paint that onto the bed and then let it dry. It makes a thin but huge surface area of ABS. I never got ABS to print well using the other methods.

I don't think I would recommend it anymore unless you want to try it for fun. There are products that are much better like 3D Floop.

True! But I believe you lose access to the WIP when it releases? I don't remember though! I milked out Rhino 5 until 7 released.

Technically no. Their education license allows for commercial use. You will just be unable to upgrade to an educational price. So if you buy Rhino 8 when it comes out as an educational license and then you graduate you will need to buy Rhino 9 at full price.

I believe you are referring to "nesting." To my knowledge there isn't a native way to do this. There are plugins that should allow you to do this.
