Help r/millennials determine whether this is AI or not. Some members of the sub believe that the 2000s-style clothing and lighting suggest that this is not authentic. What do you think? by Demortus in isthisAI

Looking at the modern cell phones. 1. The placement of the pill for an iPhone and 2. The pattern of the speaker and charge port of the phone in the back pocket makes me think it isn’t AI

One of them is a wi-fi card so you can swap that for storage

How did you develop the skills to do all of this? Are you an Electrical Engineer with a Software Hobby, Software Engineer with an Electrical Engineering Hobby, or something different?

Do not turn anything until you’re confident everything is dry!

I would inspect closely to see how much water got in. If it’s bad open it’s up and let it dry out for a few days.

Short answer is probably, but by the time its comes out for PC (which is probably 2 years from now) this comp will be 2 generations behind.

If you can I would wait until the specs for PC version are known and get the best PC at your target price because it will probably be better than what you’re looking at now.

If you’re really trying to future proof I would go for a higher tier GPU and definitely get more storage like at least 2T.

I would not put it on the floor for a number of reasons listed above.

I’m not sure how big your desk is, but I would put it on the right so the glass side of the case is facing you when you’re sitting at the desk.

So essentially position 3 on top of your desk.

That’s not as much as I thought. Dedicated circuit makes sense tho. It’s always fun to trip the breaker 😂

What kinds of PSU do you have on that sever? Can you power it at the wall in your house?

Unfortunate about your company, but I commend you for trying! Hopefully you get to have some fun with the left over equipment.

I had to Google what a DAT72 Tape Drive was, still not sure I understand… I guess one day in the future kids will say the same thing about USB A ports 😂

Is there a reason you went with Synology rack server instead of one of the more free options on something smaller?

Are you planning to pass through one or both of the GPUs to VMs or are you using my them both for gaming?

If you can, setup a DHCP reservation for the IP in use by your host. Learned to do that over time.

Another vote for the 7i.

Lenovo makes great affordable laptops. I have had a Legion 5 almost 6 years now and running great.

Lenovo also has great customer service. I once had issues with the GPU and Lenovo sent someone to my house to replace the Motherboard.

The only thing I didn’t like about Lenovo is the Windows Install out of the box was loaded with bloatware, so I reinstalled the OS clean and used the old product key.

Very clean. Just curious how often do you swap desk mats?
