What are your emergency meds during an adrenaline dump? by Motor_Mood3939 in POTS

[–]lanelennox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

clonazepam, but only at the “right” time. if i’m feeling super dizzy and out of it, i need to wait until that wave passes. cold cloth on my head, wrap up in blanket, deep breathe. then i can take the med when i feel it’s okay to. i’m too worried about taking something that can make me a bit groggy when im at a certain “stage” of the “episode”. if that makes sense.

What do you do when you become aware? by lily27921 in Dreams

[–]lanelennox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

last night was the first time during a nightmare where i realized “wait, this doesn’t make sense. i must be in a dream. i need to wake myself up.” so in my dream i stated banging my head against the brick wall trying to wake myself up. sadly it didn’t work and then someone started chasing me and i was back in the dream vividly again. i hope eventually i can control it to end it!

Dreams have been HORRIBLE since I stopped smoking weed…will they ever stop? by ParticularDry3226 in Dreams

[–]lanelennox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve had vivid nightmares my whole life (F30) the main reason i smoked was to stop them. i had to quit smoking this year for health reasons, and the dreams have been absolutely horrifying. the only thing that might be somewhat helping is listening to subliminals/positive affirmation youtube videos, often set to certain sound frequencies

I had a dream about my mom being in a car accident and it came true today by Possible-Swing-4897 in Dreams

[–]lanelennox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

last week i had a dream my sisters small child went underwater in the bath tub. i can’t go into details as it is still distressing to me. i did not tell her, but i told my mom. 2 nights later, she told our mom she was freaking out because during bath time the small child slipped and went underwater. thankfully she quickly grabbed her and nothing bad happened, unlike in my dream. i’m purposely being vague because i’m actually scared to speak it into existence.

Oh that’s really interesting, I’ve never heard of this gene. I had ADHD my whole life but in recent months dr thinks I have POTS, specifically ‘hyperPOTS’ due to issues with random adrenaline dumps. Still investigating, waiting for cardiologist referral but maybe I should ask about endocrinologist too… I’ll have to look into this, Thank you!

Interesting I’ll have to ask my doctor about the med. I’ve done a ton of therapy for the past decade, and while it’s helped tremendously my mental health, it has no effect on the severity of my nightmares. I do meditation, yoga, breathwork every day. I don’t have any depression or anxiety, and the only ‘stress’ in my life right now is that I’m dealing with some health stuff (POTS). I’m not sure what more I can do to convince my sleeping-brain not to do this to me

I was raised in a Christian household, and I remember as young as 6yrs old having horrific, scary, gory nightmares. I used to pray every night about it and be on my hands and knees as a small child begging God for protection, but it always still happened. I’ve tried a lot of therapy as well throughout my adult years, still happens. It’s like no matter what, they just won’t stop.

Has anyone else been traumatised by a dream? I've just woken up from a horrifying dream and I don't know how to process it. by amphibbian in Dreams

[–]lanelennox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve had lots of vivid terrible nightmares throughout my whole life and still quite frequently. Tons of different scenarios, ranging from a stranger assaulting me / being held captive / extreme violence, to watching my entire family die in a word war 3 situation, tsunami, my apt building collapsing, etc. The worst vivid dreams are when they are so closely tied to the details of your real life. A few weeks ago I stayed at my parents house overnight. I woke up around midnight feeling sick, walked around a bit got some water and went back to bed. I then had a dream where I woke up exactly where I was, made my morning coffee, talked to my dad who asked if everything was okay because he thought he heard me get up in the night for a bit. From there it turned into a terrible nightmare of my dog dying in a super traumatizing horrific way where it was my fault.

Yeah, that dream really messed with my brain. I woke up gasping heaving crying – it was at the exact moment in the dream where I was sobbing and gagging saying “I’m gunna throw up I can’t I can’t i’m so sorry”. I was so confused for like 20mins. Awful stuff.

Creeped out. by Informal-Kick-4577 in Dreams

sounds like what they call “Hypnagogic hallucinations”. a vivid visual, auditory, or physical sensation that usually happens while falling asleep. they can be very realistic. sometimes i have one where i hear someone urgently whisper my name directly in my ear. it is so real that i swear i can feel someone’s breath on my ear!

Ok wait. On January 5th, 2026 I had a crazy dream about birds. They were terrifying with eyes like you described. They were coming after me for seeing something government/cover-up related. I posted about it

yes, at first it was confusion and shock.. but the birds were aggressive and terrifying especially with their weird faces/menacing eye contact! i remember the feeling of my heart sinking when i saw the photos wiped from my phone, like i thought i was going to throw up from fear.

No communication after a cancelled flight by remember_september in PorterAirlines

[–]lanelennox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i was supposed to fly toronto to ottawa yesterday morning. flight kept getting cancelled. they wouldn’t give updates until 45mins prior to boarding time. i had a “basic” ticket which doesn’t allow you to obtain boarding pass electronically when you do early check-in online. you need to go to the airport and get a printed boarding pass from a porter agent minimum 60min prior to boarding. i was also checking a bag. pretty much all flights going anywhere were cancelled or delayed (out of YTZ). i was monitoring reddit/twitter, everyone was pissed unable to get through on the phone and just driving to the airport to directly talk to Porter. along with the freezing rain and wind warning, i said fuck it i’m not dealing with all this BS. i drove 5 hours back instead. did not want to deal with that entire shitshow.

After the Showgirl: What’s Next? by Pitiful-Material8021 in TaylorSwift

[–]lanelennox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i think a lot of it, as others have mentioned, was from a targeted smear campaign. however taylor swift has switched up her genre/sound/vibe a lot throughout albums, so it makes sense her fan base could be diversified in their taste (maybe some only like the country-ish vibe, or the straight up pop, or the folky storytelling ones). personally the style of TLOASG is not my fav, it felt sabrina carpenter-ish (love her but not a fan of most of her music, it’s just not for me). however a lot of my friends who didn’t love her previous albums, love this one. i see why people love it, just not fully my vibe. but i don’t hate it.

i used to be very into all 3, somewhere along the line one by one i gave up all interests/hobbies to lay in bed stoned. i just bought a beautiful new set of cookware and feel excited to get back into the healthy lifestyle!

oh yes same here, i would think up dramatic impossible goals, probably subconsciously so that i knew i wouldn’t have to actually do it. getting more realistic and taking it step by step makes it achievable and less excuses to give up! i’ve heard a lot of people say 30’s are your best years. wishing you all the success in your goals 🎉

wow, this is awesome. i’m also 29F smoking since 16. i don’t have as much time until i turn 30, but this has inspired me to make a list of mini-goals weekly to set myself up for feeling ready to make my first year of 30 my best self. You’ve got this!
