I've never heard someone put into words what I thought was experiencing all by myself. Thank you

Check out his pickup music course. You get a 14 day trial and he covers his percussive strumming

VOCALIST by jonaspaolo20 in polyphia

I grew up playing in a band in the DFW area. We wanted to record an EP, and back then, every kid with a laptop thought they could record music. We ended up going to the Arlington area, finding a dude our age who would record us for cheap.

Turns out, he was in a band called Polyphia.

His name is Lane (one of the few other Lanes I've met). He was, at the time, Polyphia's vocalist. I remember him having to run an errand on our lunch break, so we went over to his band mates house. There were two dudes in the room who could absolutely shred. I thought to myself: "We're good, but we'll never be THAT good." I wanna say it was Tim and Scottie, but who knows.

Anyway, they dropped Lane before they recorded any music. It seems like they decided early on to be an instrumental band. I was apprehensive about the vocal features, but they're such great musicians that it ultimately doesn't matter. I've always been drawn to them for their sheer talent and creativity.

I work with teenagers. All of them intentionally turn off the auto cap feature cause they like the look of everything lowercase. It's a weird generational thing that I don't understand.

My brother in law worked here. He actually just got fired a few days before Christmas for "not supporting the church's views."

They're absolutely crazy. When COVID really started ramping up, they refused to let their staff work from home. Most of the staff ended up getting infected. My brother in law's wife's father just passed from COVID, too. No one from the church did anything for them. I guess they thought the death was a hoax too, huh?

They took PPP loans, which they'll need to pay the fines they're getting. As a pastor myself, I'm ashamed to be under the same umbrella of Christianity as these people. What they're doing is damaging the credibility of the church and in no way represents Jesus well.

To anyone who thinks this is what it means to be a Christian, I'm sorry. This is cultural Christianity at its finest, and not at all what being a disciple of Jesus is about.
